23 here.
Be real interesting to see the ages here. Im guessing it will be younger than say if you asked the same question of B&W owners.
I'll be hitting 31 on 9/11.
Am I really in my 30's? When did that happen?
I've been 29 for the last 13 years.
My head feels 18. My joints feel 65. The calendar says 35.
oh come on, i can't be the oldest fart here!
I dunno twodan...thats gonna be pretty hard to top
I think keyboards have some built in defense device to keep people over 55 away from them. Does for my grandparents at least!
43...
26.
I have to disagree that keyboards have built-in "geezer" defense mechanisms. My wife's grandfather sends the family a daily e-mail update.
Then the evil robots have gotten to him! They have probably eaten all of his medication for fuel and tethered him to the machine!
(I hope all of you fellow SNL fans are giggling as well)
SNL?
I thought that show stopped being funny a decade ago
It's funny content just dipped that's all. A 90 minute show in the 70's contained about 80 minutes of funny stuff. It's down to about 10-15 minutes of funny now.
I'm 26. And yes, my grandmother sends out zillions and zillions of emails. My wife was _delighted_ to be added to the almost daily lists of what she did the day before...
24.
Dad is nearing the 55 year mark and is showing no signs of slowing down on the forwards and pseudo-inspirational Christian stories...
Ravi: the robot insurance skit is probably 10 yrs old now....so to answer your question, yes, it is no longer funny =)
and so the threat stays on track...I am still 23 years old.
Hey! I just noticed that I've been updated from an (addict) to an (old hand). I guess thats what I get for being 49.75 years old.
I'm 48...twodan, that should make you feel a little better.
Mark
Drum roll pleazzzzzz.. FIFTY FIVE !!! Read 'em and weep boys and girls..
I turned 49 on the ides of March, beware!
18.... But i could say im 30 and you wouldnt know the diff. whos countin anyway.
You're 48 Mark? Wouldn't have guessed that high.
BTW...29 here.
28. but 27 sounds so much better last year :-O
53 going on 30, last I checked (which I do less and less these days).
"Old people" can use the Internet. Some of us even helped build it... ;-)
Cheers,
Doug
Somebody has to be old around here. I'm 58 and can run 5 miles daily. Have run two marathons since I turned fifty. The mind is the first to go and well, I can't remember what's next!
gthomas
Yup, the HUGE individual difference in the speed at which one's BODY and MIND gets "old" is by itself an exciting biomeical research topic.
I know I look much younger than I am (even in the eyes of Asian people), but I admit that my physical performance is not as good as even a few years ago. As for the "mind," I always try to keep this little boy in my head.
And I guess littleb misplaced the following post in an apparently unrelated thread:
littleb says: I'm 49, have 3 boys--20, 19, and 16 and I've just discovered the wonder that is axiom audio. I can't believe I actually listened to Technics for 20 years. When my wife was pregnant I found her to be more attractive. She had a certain glow, a certain smile, even a swagger I found appealing.
So, you guys work out (i.e. lift weights)? I just started again after about 8 years of atrophy. Looking forward to my best ski season ever this winter.
Incidentally, I'm at my in-laws house in Tarzana (SoCal) this long weekend. It's damn HOT! My dog hasn't stopped panting from her walk 2 hours ago.
35 and starting to feel like it!
Where do you ski? I'm either planning to snowboard at Utah or Vail this year (my back willing). Found out 2 weeks ago that I had Spina Bifida (didn't check the spelling) when I was a baby and I have one of my lowest spinal bone not forming properly. Had this really bad back pains since last September since the 24 hour mtn bike race I participated in. Didn't stop me from boarding in Whistler last January.
Being asian myself has hid those years. I hope the very few wrinkles around my eyes don't increase.
I'll be 43 in a week, and starting to notice some disconcerting things. For example, I was facilitating a program for some of our college interns and made a reference to the original Star Trek series...none of them knew who Captain Kirk was, and the mention of Mr. Spock drew blank "what's with the old guy?" stares...where's a phaser when you need one???
I do Tahoe -- plenty of different resorts and terrain to choose from. I just started skiing about 4 years ago and am just moving up to blacks, so great places like Vail would have been lost on me before now.
thanks doug. looks like you and i are the old geezers so far. 53 seems to be the magic number.
dan
Looks like Mikey has us beat by a couple of years.
Hey Mikey! :-)
Doug
I was up at tahoe when i went on vacation. Took the gondola ride up to the top and took a few pics. nice place up there.
Sierra Ski Ranch rocks...I also like Kirkwood and Heavenly. I used to be quite athletic but an unfortunate accident left me with a herniated disk that hampers me somewhat.
Yeah, through my college years I used to ski competitively (slalom), and afterwards I always loved those mogul slopes in ski resorts. Lately, though, I realize that my leg muscles aren't up to it anymore...
Mogul...now there's a nasty word. I remember them being the size of Volkswagon Bugs at Telluride!! I've never been the same since.
I steer clear of all moguls when I can. At 6'4", by center of gravity doesn't agree with them.
I remember once on last season I got a little brave and tried a mild mogul run at the top of an easier black diamond. Even then, I whimped out and did the sidestep down the mountain.
You sure that was a mogul not a jump.
I hope to hit some of those slopes in the West one day. I've been lucky enough to have been boarding to Whistler, Interior BC places, Vermont, NY, Montreal, Quebec, Maine and once at 12,500+ in the Andes Santiago, Chile. This year I hope to hit either Vail or Utah before my back lets out due to spinal issues. LET IT SNOW ALREADY!!!!!!!
It was definitely a bunch of moguls.
Just turned 40. But (in that James Brown kind of way), I feel good!
I appreciate learning from this multi-generational community. You folks teach me a lot. Thanks.
I guess I'm the oldest so far at 58! Thank God I don't feel that old. Of course it dosen't hurt that I have a younger wife
gthomas
Oh, god, please tell me you're kidding. Damn young 'uns don't know anythin' these days! Carnsarnit!
45, and still learning daily.
Yup, I do "learning" as my day job!
Given my recent responses to the COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC topic of sports car selections, I thought some might be interested...
I'm 37
57, and just handed in a letter stating I'm retiring at the end of the year. I need a very, very, happy smilie
I'm still the oldest at 58!
gthomas
Hey Gene, you braggin ? Or crying ?? haha..
At our age, we get to do a little of both, eh....
