Nick and his family will be celebrating today. Happy Birthday, Nick!
Happy Birthday, Nick!!!!!!
Nick, I hope you have a great birthday!
Thanks for your in-depth posts regarding your HT journey!
Thanks guys. I should have some new pictures to upload soon. I was working on the "next phase" of my theater project yesterday. Probably won't do anything with it today, but I will get pictures up anyway at some point.
Happy birthday, you philestine Nick!
Happy Birthday here, too!
Thanks again everyone. It was a good day.
Have a buolish birthday, Nick!
Happy Belated Birthday! Now we can try to keep your thread going until next year. Maybe it'll make it longer than Mark's thread did.
Ha. We'll see if it can go that long. That is quite a challenge... We almost need new weekly or daily topics to keep it derailed for a year... Suggestions?
How many days of the year can be claimed as unbirthday?
Hey, Scott. Have you turned into a Georgia Tech or UGA fan yet?!
NEVER! (Or at least not until our money starts going there in support of one of the kids in college.) We still wear our LSU shirts, hats and take our LSU folding chairs to sporting events. If we get any guff we just have to say that we hate Alabama, too, and that makes it a little better.
GO BLUE!
I prefer more regular activity so I never have to go blue.
Well Jack, I'll let it slide with you too. At least you live in the same state as the team that you cheer for.
OH NO! Now I got two of them to deal with. Sheesh!
I was away last week celebrating your birthday Nick. Hope you had as good a time as me.
I bought you a new car, but since you wasn't around to received it, I decided to keep it for myself.
Awwww... You guys are so nice...
Do you have any pictures from where my birthday was celebrated, or of the car that was bought for me, but kept?

Sorry, 13 years in the New Orleans area is hard to let go of. On the flip side, when we lived near Los Angeles, we were accustomed to the LA Rams - then they moved to St. Louis - based on the above argument, we should have moved to somewhere in Missouri to maintain our loyalty??

I was actually making fun of myself. I am a University of Michigan fan, but I live in Iowa....

There would have been a picture here, but doesn't seem to work well using an iPad.
Happy belated B-day to a Michigander!!!!
We spent 5 years ther in the mid 70s and are extremely happy to say we are FROM Detroit!
Thanks Ray. Not sure that I can be called a Michigander though... I've never lived there...
Just a UMich fan. I grew up in Illinois right on the Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin boarder. Went to a Wisconsin game once as a kid, and those Badgers are quite the unruly bunch. I can see supporting your team and not supporting the competitor, but because we were there while visiting relatives and weren't cheering for Wisconsin (we weren't cheering for EITHER team) we had food and drinks thrown at us. Come on, we weren't cheering for anyone. Hated them ever since. I grew up with uncles that were die-hard Iowa Hawkeye fans. They were so obsessive that it was obnoxious. Hate the Hawkeyes too (and I have lived my entire post-college life in Iowa). I went to a college in Illinios (Western Illinois University) and while our football team was good, our other sports stunk, and we weren't on the same playing field (pun intended) as a Big10 school or anything, so I cheered on my team, but watched others on TV. I couldn't cheer for the Illinois Illini because they were terrible at football, and basketball season hadn't kicked in. This was back in 1993 and Michigan was always on because they were winning... They were from the midwest, and I had a few encounters with people from Michigan who were very polite and nice, unlike those stupid Badgers or Hawkeyes, and their team was enjoyable to watch, unlike the Illini. So after watching them a lot, they grew on me and Ive been a fan ever sense. Through the good times, the bad times, and everything in between.
Hey, I am in your lovely state by the way. Although I am almost as far away from you as a person can get. I am working in Harrison, NY and staying (stayed) in New Rochelle, NY. I fly out to Atlanta this afternoon though.
Damn - would have been nice to connect for a beer!
Root beer for me would have been good.
I am now sitting in the Westchester County Airport's "holding corral." If you've never been here, picture a good sized room with several "doors." These doors lead down hallways to more doors. Those doors open and almost all of them (all but 1 maybe) just leads to outside where you walk on a painted path to the steps to your plane. Just 1 jet bridge, and no idea of which gate, I mean door will be yours for your flight.
As "rinky-dink" as it is, and the fact that you have to walk a little distance outside to get to the rental cars (they used to be right next to the baggage claim area but still outside until they "expanded"), I like flying in and out of there. So easy and convenient. MUCH better than fighting the drive to Laguardia and that stupid place.
Off to Atlanta for the next leg of the trip.

Ahhhh, now I see the inflection... I don't take this stuff too seriously (sports), so all in fun and no offense meant to anyone - I have an aunt that lives, eats, and breathes Lakers and at 80 can spew stats all day long.
So what part of Atlanta are you going to and for how long?
Scott, I know you're wearing a red and black hat with a big G on it while you type. Fess up!

Woah. I am pretty much in your backyard (no need to go check your backyard). I am staying in John's Creek. I have a full day ahead of me tomorrow (Wednesday) and then right after work I am driving to Evans, GA to visit my sister and her family. I am then staying near ATL airport on Thursday night and flying back home Friday morning.
Next trip I will look you up and see if we can grab a bite or something.

Please do. I could use some input on what to do in the basement.
Travel safe!

OK, you got me...
Actually, I'm pretty well surrounded at work by G and GT logos - one more would be overkill
Happy belated Birthday Nick!!
Ah, I know what you mean about the airport. In Southern California, I much prefer Ontario Airport (very small and convenient) vs. LAX (which is roughly the size of a small city).
I flew into the Ontario airport when I visited, and yeah, it really wasn't bad. I have no experience with LAX, thankfully.
Best Small Airports I've used:
Ontario, CA (ONT)
Gulfport/Biloxi, MS (GPT)
Reagan National, Washington DC (DCA)
Maui, HI (OGG)
LAX doesn't bother me much. Then again, I know my way around pretty well and it is a fairly quick 30 minute drive to my office downtown (AT&T building near LA Live).
The Ontario, CA airport is too far away to make it worth trying. If you want to pay for my ticket, I could give a review of the Maui airport.
