This was a very watchable movie. A good movie. However, there was very little originality in the movie. There were elements from about a dozen other movies. But I didn't mind too much. I have friends who dislike Tom Cruise. I like him. He was pretty good in this one and I think his performance made you believe he was his character and not Tom Cruise.

Sound quality: Turn on your subwoofers and get ready.

I liked this movie and I plan on watching it again.

I could use a decent movie with good LFE. I'll have to check it out. Watching the raven tonight.

I liked Oblivion too. Not perfect, but enjoyable.

I am watching Star Trek Into Darkness at reference level audio. It is pretty impressive.

I should have watched this one rather than After Earth last night.

Yes, yes you should have.

It was a close second to Elysium as the worst movie I've seen this year with or without the sound track.

Elysium is that bad? I haven't seen that one either, but didn't hear nearly as much crap talk about anything quite like 'After Earth.' Reminded me of Ishtar in how negative people were about it. LOL

The sad thing is that After Earth 2 is already listed on IMDB. Not much about it, but wow. The Smith family must really be pushing to get junior into the movie business. Maybe if they invested in some acting lessons instead.....

I just had my second viewing. My wife wanted to watch it. Still good. I didn't get bored. I picked up on a few clues I missed.

Not sure if Wilwom hated After Earth or Oblivion or both smile

The story is just so-so. I was happy with the look of the movie. I'd kind of like to see what Neil Blomkamp can do with someone else's writing. Or co-writing. It's not like he has zero good ideas, but so far it's just a little half-baked. Maybe he needs Duncan Jones to help push his sci-fi to a higher level.

I give Oblivion a solid above average rating. And I agree Tom Cruise was pretty good in this one. Sometimes he gets too stale but he's had a good run lately. If you haven't seen Jack Reacher I highly recommend it.

I saw Oblivion a bit ago in the theaters. Despite dislike around the office, I liked it well enough. I even forgot that Mono-personality Tom Cruise was Tom Cruise for a while & it was refreshing to have a real sci-fi story on the big screen for a change.

Sorry though, I didn't buy Tom as Jack Reacher at all. He was just Tom Cruise in yet another role where he only brought himself to the role. Just my opinion, of course.
