Here are two I came across in the last 24 hours:

A $100 3D printer

"here is no certain limit on build volume. In the same way that a flashlight beam gets bigger the further it shines, so does the build volume of the Peachy Printer. Although this has not been tested, we have high hopes to print a full size canoe! This will require a build volume of approximately 3'x3'x16'. The real limiting factor in build volume is time... It could be possible to calibrate the Peachy Printer to print a house, but it would take years!"

That there is now a 97% survival rate for lung transplants.

Party pooper!!

"And yet those moments when everything works properly and the Replicator produces a perfectly formed print are magical."

I'm not gonna let you pee on the cornflakes of my dreams. I still want my $100 thingy printer, even if it doesn't quite work. grin

Have you looked at the new printer. It is a marvel, the ingenuity of some people. At some point, we will see really cheap 3D printing that works. We are beyond prof of concept and on the steep curve of innovation. To me that is pretty cool.
