From the look, the big analog meters and wood side panels, I'd guess it was from the 70's or maybe the mid 80's at the latest ... but actually it's 1992.
Analog Meters look great but are not very exacting. If you know the amps continuous power and headroom they can give you an idea where you are.
More useful IMO, but zero "Wow", would be two LEDs: 1 which lit if you clipped and another which held that for a second so you could see if your clipping transients
Yes, but as long as they bounce to the beat of the music, they're OK with me.

I really like the Nagra stuff.
Messed with a 1/4” mono field recorder on a student film years ago (I was the sound guy).
Pretty robust and bullet proof feel to it. So many dials! Made me feel so cool to use it.
I cradled it like an egg whenever I took it out of the carry bag. A heavy egg!
