I just recently returned my leased vehicle. It was equipped with a factory CD player. I picked up a Chevy Colorado ZR2. It took me a short while to realize this truck did not have a player. Duh! I know, how could I have missed that when I was checking it out. I assumed at the price point there would be one!
Has anyone gone and added a CD player to their vehicle? Now don’t everyone laugh at me but am I the only one who still uses CDs and cares the car builders have dropped offering/including them?

That’s progress ... I’m bummed too as we often get books on tape from the library when traveling 6 hours or more. Makes the trip go so much faster.

We try to get a digital version now ... but sometimes have to work around the problem by ripping a temporary copy. The deterrent is more the time this takes than the gray legal area. I knew there was a reason I wanted to keep those old portable CD players.
You’re not the only one. My wife wants a CD player in her new car. Only problem is the in dash screen/radio is a ships computer nowadays. Getting her used to spotify now. We are borg. Resistance is futile.

I have one in my 2015, but it rarely gets used...digital all the way now!
I rip out factory stereo almost the minute I get a new car. I've always been a car audiophile and I immediately upgrade the speakers and head unit with corresponding amplifiers and subs. I'm in my car so much I want to have really good audio and I will always buy a head unit with cd/dvd player because it gives me options.

I want a GPS voice in my truck in Borg collective voice.

“ you have arrived at your destination “.
Lol. laugh
Ok I’ve given in. I accept that CDs are old and digital is the most convenient option.
Found an unused usb drive laying around the office. Went ahead and copied a dozen CDs. All of the tracks I’ve listened to sound ok. At least good enough for use in the truck. I feel CDs are less effort but without that option you’ve got to adapt.

It's hit or miss anymore. My 2019 Ram has a CD player, but I had to order one with my last truck - which was a 2015 GMC Denali.

I prefer to buy the CD's, then rip them to high res MP3. I then load up a USB drive with the MP3's. But, I still like having the CD player. It comes in handy.

Tape and FM radio in my car and bLuLu. Tape and FM radio is like gin and tonic. When you're drinking it, you realize how wonderful life is when you're not.

My current setup in the truck is Spotify off line. Blue tooth. Done. Plays right off the truck screen. Playlists all set for my Favorite tunes or current flavour of the month.

Still loving the Mitch Murder someone suggested back in the spring. I’m totally into synth and “ modern 80s” now.

FM Attack etc. ( check em out super fun tunes. ).

Michael D what RAM do you have? I’ve got a 2015 1500 with the eco diesel. Love my truck. It’s been a blessing to us. Coming up on our warranty ending, 5 years. ( had an extended one). Thinking of flipping it to new one maybe.
Back to the drawing board for me. I initially copied 3 CDs to the usb drive and tried it out in my truck. All 3 of the albums I copied played just fine. Went ahead and copied a bunch more. Tried using it in the truck again today. Problem, “device not recognized” shows up on the screen.
Scheisse! Tried inserting it several times to no avail.
Guess I’ll try a different, newer drive and start over.

2020 Acura RLX Hybrid with Krell system has a CD player/ripper.

Sounds pretty good.

Car is very quick, seats are very comfortable, they're giving them away. The model is discontinued for 2021.

I have a 1500 Longhorn with 6.5' bed, off-road package.... I ordered it a couple of years ago. I have a three-year cycle where I buy a new truck every three years. Keeps me in a new truck, no real maintenance costs, etc.... I'll probably move to a new truck in a year if I don't get that BMW M5 I've been pining over..... This truck has been a great truck. Super nice ride with the four-corner air.
