Quack, I get it man. Time flies. I can’t believe I’ve been here 3 years. I didn’t really anticipate enjoying the forum. Nonetheless it’s fun and enjoyable interaction with folks with a similar interest.

Happy Holidays!

Ps 15 years is certainly a long time. !

To hell with 2022, I say. A healthy and prosperous new year to all.

Good bye 2022. Bring on the new year!! It’s arbitrary but somehow it feels good to have a “ fresh start “

Happy New Year Axiom Pals!!

Yup. The new year - time - is arbitrary.

Decision Derision

Here I stand
Looking ahead, looking behind
Trying to decide

Up ahead, a place I may have been
Just behind, a place I may be going
Is my future ahead or behind?
Maybe it's right here

Here I stand
Looking ahead, looking behind
Trying to decide

Future replaces the past
And yet I'm not ahead or behind
I wonder when now will come
How will I know?

Here I stand
Looking ahead, looking behind
Trying to decide

I went forward, then back
No matter where I go, here I am
Never in the future or the past
Always now

Here I stand
No need to look
I know now

Good one. Nicely written. I like it.

Agreed. Time is rather arbitrary isn’t it.

It’s not arbitrary when I look in the mirror frown
Posted By: Kodiak Re: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! - 01/04/23 05:34 AM
Must be a bad mirror. “Time” for a new one…..

kNOWing

Wish I had a time machine
I'd fix some stuff that I have seen
I'd take away pain and erase dismay
So folks could laugh their days away.

Wish I had a time machine
To learn 'bout things that haven't been
I'd come right back and tell our kind
Just how bad we're misaligned.

But time doesn't flow the way I think
The past and future are not distinct
The only time I can extol
Is the now, the present, under my control.

Those moments lived and in my past
They're all gone, they didn't last
And those ahead, on the way
Depend on what I do today.

The present then is all there is
The woeful sorrow, expansive bliss
It happens right now and no machine
Can take me to a different scene

Bravo sir. Nicely done. The closest thing I’ve experienced to a Time Machine ( or my interpretation of a Time Machine) is music. Depending on the song I definitely travel somewhere. Smells are good for that too.

Those songs and smells though are experienced in the past simultaneously while still in the present.

That was really good poem. Nice work.

Thank you, Tyler.

Pulling out all the stops…..This is a fitting clip from Interstellar combining music and time. This is one of my all time favorite movies. I fell in love with pipe organs after this movie. Truly amazing music. It’s absolutely profound if you let yourself just sit with it. The ending of Interstellar relates exactly to how arbitrary the concept of time is and is only perceived by the observer from “now here”.

Love it.

I want to watch this movie in Mojos dojo one day. And in Rrlev’s theatre too.

And then in my theatre one day too!

Be careful what you wish for. I am supporting an entire house for the sake of my ALFRs, Axiom amps and Axiom subs. I want to sell everything and go nomadic to travel the world but I can't live without the audio!

Have a friend who is doing that right now. Divorced his wife and is now in Bali … I think doing a meditation retreat.

I hope he finds a new path.

kNOWmad

Took a trip to the future
Only to find
A stronger me
With a much tougher mind

Amidst the escarpment
Tattered and scorched
I saw how mankind
Had pillaged and torched

I learned enough about men
To make no ally
loyalty was my virtue
But only to I

I dished lots of mercy
But not for compassion
I made my own laws
And got satisfaction

I tried to reason
But it wasn't for goons
My revolvers worked better
As they blasted out tunes

I shot and I slashed
To avoid being prey
Dying ain't much
of a living I say

Then I came back to the now
No longer naive
Don't matter how I die
Only how I live
