The thread has apparently been deleted by the moderator. I have absolutely no idea why.
Posted By: WhatFurrer Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/22/04 07:16 PM
Strange...

I just viewed it no more than five minutes ago...

Now it is gone...

Too Bad...good story...maybe they moved it...

Any chance one of you could offer us the gist of the story?
I know that Axion CS is great, but new stories are always nice.

the story was basically, the guy ordered the wrong color, and Axiom sent him the color he had intended to get without any kind of return fee.
Posted By: bigjohn Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/22/04 07:45 PM
it was there when i went and read it..

basically, the post was from a guy who had ordered some M60's, QS8's, and a VP150 on line.. but when he ordered, he accidently clicked the 'maple' finish, instead of the 'mansfield beech' finish, which is what he wanted.. he didnt realize the mistake til the speakers were in his living room, and he started opening boxes(oh the memories), and saw that they were not the color he wanted.. he called the company 1-800#, and spoke to alan, who told the guy that he would talk with the boss man, and see what they could do.. the next day, alan emailed him back, and told him that they had shipped a new set of speakers in the color he wanted, AND sent him free return labels so it would cost him nothing to send the other ones back..

and keep in mind, it was this guys fault that he got the wrong color in the first place.. once again, showing that axiom will go above and beyond to keep customers happy, and ensure their name is very well spoken in the world of us computer junkie types.

EDIT-i was too slow again..

That friggin moron of a customer over in AVS Forums deserves a "baliff smack his pee pee"....oh wait it was me.

The exact same story is up a few threads if you want to read it. David Bott (mod) pulled it as he stated that others were posting good customer service things for non-forum sponsors. So the other posters ruined my one attempt at displaying Axiom's customer service for all the world too see.

Hope the thread I started here stays.

I just read that. Thanks!
My own experiences have (of course) been wonderful. I'm soarly tempted to convince my friends and relatives to get speakers or upgrade just so I can help them choose the right Axioms for them.

Richard, I hope it wasn't anything I (Rijax) said over there that caused a problem. I did list some other manufacturers that I think also have good customer service. I find it hard to believe that at AVS you can ONLY praise companies that pay them. What a crock.

I smell a boycott comin' on!

Ok, not really.
Posted By: rmcgirr83 Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/22/04 09:30 PM
Hi Jack,

I'm not really sure if it was your post or not....it didn't last long enough for me to respond to the posts.

I did receive a PM from the mod stating the reasons....I guess I can understand, sort of, his position. These sponsors pay to have their name plastered all over the place. Posting about non-sponsors....well it's kind of like free advertising.

PS. Please call me Rich

Almost OT

What did you think of the speakers? Did you post that somewhere and I did not catch it?

Posted By: rmcgirr83 Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/22/04 09:50 PM
Well, I had thought about breaking them out of their boxes....but thought, nah. I was sweating like a pig anyway and didn't want to risk not being able to repack as well as I had gotten.

So they are still in their boxes waiting for the Fedex dude.

Amie, did email me and gave me new tracking numbers for the new black ones.

Without a doubt the most embarassing moment in my life..and no, it was not my first internet purchase.

Anyone know anything about the H/K 7200? Specifically zone 2?

Should I make another thread concerning this or just (sorry ajax, but what goes around comes around) hijack this one.
Posted By: James_T Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/22/04 10:01 PM
Hehe. Go ahead and hijack. It will happen anyway. If not by me then by someone else!

I have no experience with the H/Ks but there are some on who have so hopefully they can chime in for you.

Hi Rich,

Welcome, and thanks so much for sharing your story!

Remarkably beer-free thread, so far

Anyway, I'm not an AVS devotee (just don't have time, it's nothing deliberate). I go there periodically and read some stuff.

At the risk of politicizing this thread, I find it a little alarming that free exchange of information by persons not associated with the business end of AVS (i.e. users) are being censored for saying POSITIVE things about any company, even if they are not sponsors. I mean, it would be one thing if you were besmirching the credibility of firms who pay the bill to make your prattling possible, but not allowing positive comments unless they ARE paying you?

Look at subwoofers. Every time it comes up here (only 3.6 new subwoofer threads per day this month, a new record low), somebody trying to help offers up how much he enjoys his SVS or Hsu. And others chime in that they are satisfied with their Axiom, or Rocket or Paradigm or Dayton or whatever. I think Axiom, as the SOLE sponsor of this manufacturer-related forum, would be entirely justified in discouraging these types of conversations. But they don't. Which is part of what makes this such a special cyber-place.

To cite a newspaper analogy, I'm not sure that the AVS editorial board should be beholden to the advertising department. Ultimately, I think it's just bad business.

Where's the /scratches head emoticon?

This one?

Mai oui! Tres Bien! Merci boucoups, mon ami.
Posted By: Ajax Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/23/04 12:31 AM
Accurately, and articulately put, Tom. Smacks of censorship, I think.
Posted By: Ajax Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/23/04 12:38 AM
Hijack away, Rich. If you follow many threads here, you'll find it's the rare one that doesn't get hijacked or just ("sorry pmbuko, but what goes around comes around") peter out.

To try to answer your question about the 7200. I have no personal experience with it, but from everything I've read and heard, it is well respected. I know that many forum members own HKs, and speak highly of them. Hopefully, one or two who know that particular model will speak up.

tom - I see you have chosen French as the language de jour for slaughtering . Interesting about AVS Forum. They are HQ'd here in Rochester and I have traded a few PMs with a couple of the mods. The seem to be standup guys. I've been trying to find some time to check out their retail location, but something always pops up.

Oh, before I forget tom - Corona. This thread has now been officially beer-ized!
Posted By: pmbuko Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/23/04 05:39 AM
In reply to:

but something always pops up.

Well, we all know what that "something" is not...

And now I've taken this thread straight to the gutter.
Posted By: rmcgirr83 Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 07/23/04 02:49 PM
Ajax,

Not to be miscontrued but I concur. It does smack of censorship, but if that's the "rules", that's the "rules".

PS I love my SVS, BTW

I can slaughter french as well as the next guy...but I am particularly adept at pig latin.

Beer of choice...anything that has hops, malt/barley and water will do. As of today the "biere du jour" happens to be "honey brown" loaded in the kegerator.

pmbuko, you said that very nicely..I would have said, "We all know that at your age nothing ever pops up"....but I don't know Ray3. Perhaps you have "first hand knowledge"?

I have officially taken this thread into the inner bowels of the sewer system....anyone care to "beat" it. lol.

Concerning the H/K (IMHO, it is a very good receiver), got it figured out over at AVS....say what you will about their censorship, but that site gets hit a ton each day and, generally, the posters are humane and tolerant.

Just my .02.

It's been fun...I'll let everyone know what I think about the Axioms once they get here in the right color.

Thanks for the laughs.

My story is both good and bad.

I purchased (2)M60's, VP150, and (2)QS8's in July. After opening the boxes I noticed a small tear in the cover of one of the QS8's (it was about 1/4" long). I was actually going to let it go, but Amie emailed me soon afterward asking how everything was. I told her everything was great, but a cover had a small tear. I had a new cover within 3 days. EXCELLENT!!

This next part was my fault. I should have pulled the bad cover off the speaker. Here's why...When I finally got around to putting the new cover on I discovered one of the pegs that the cover attaches to was broken. Then I checked over the box that it came in. Sure enough, there was a hole in the box (it was more like a slit). I think I was so happy to get the speakers I didn't even notice it. Anyway, the 30-day trial period expired so I couldn't say anything. Basically it was my fault. I'm sure Amie would have made it right, but I let too much time go by.

Hello Msb1999,

Hope you are well. Axiom service is fantastic, I am positive they will fix the problem, give em a hollar. I had a small dimple on one of my drivers and they sent me a new one pronto, and I got to keep the old driver.

TonyM is right. Give Amie a call or an email.
Posted By: Msb1999 Re: Axiom customer service strikes again! - 09/04/04 09:55 PM
It's been over 2 months and you can't replace just the peg. I'm not sure, but I think the whole speaker needs to be replaced. I doubt if they would replace the speaker after 2 months. Like I said, it's my fault. I should have checked it all out within the 30-days. I'll know next time. Still like the speakers though.

Hello Msb1999,

Hope you are well. Give em a hollar, no harm in trying. Five years parts and labor. One guy even had his Wife throw an object through a woofer cone, and he was asking how much for a new driver, Axiom replaced it for free within warranty. That was after being told that his Wife destroyed it.

Axiom has great service.

Hello Msb1999,

Hope you are well. Here is the link to that guy's post of the Wife's destructive nature...hehe
