I see a number of people using avatars. What photo editors are you folks using to resize/crop/edit your pix? Looking more for the "free" alternative...

It'd be nice to find one that lets you resize by pixels too. One of the sites I frequent limits me to 80x80.

I use Photoshop, but I've heard many people swear up and down about the wonders of IrfanView. It's free for non-commerical use.

I just downloaded it and played around with it. It seems to have all the features you need: crop, resize/resample by pixels and dpi, etc. You can also download plug-ins for adding effects.

I use PhotoShop Elements, but like Peter, I hear nothing but good things about Irfanview. I have it on my computer, but haven't played with it much.

I use paint shop pro 8...

You can download the 60 day trial, and when the 60 days runs out just set back your computer clock and it should work again
