Does anyone else feel they are getting caught when you go to see who is on line and someone else is checking to see who's on line. Feels like I am peeping in. Caught again!!!!!!!!!
Posted By: JohnK Re: On line - 03/17/05 04:21 AM
Just checked, Craig, and there you are!
Posted By: Seabear Re: On line - 03/17/05 04:22 AM
No,
But then again I have always felt wierdly guilty about checking to see who is online.
So I have never done it.

What's that -- one user in 3 is checking who's online ?

I do it all the time and don't feel the least bit guilty about it.

That's what BigJohn says about gorilla ports.

Heh. Poor bigjohn. Always the butt of port jokes. Or is that the port of butt jokes...?
Posted By: Haoleb Re: On line - 03/17/05 07:34 AM
Thats why you need to be sneaky... Dont let others see that your online!

My "homepage" of a local TV station takes forever to load, so I usually use my desktop shortcut to this forum to load Explorer. Then, I have a tendency to leave the window open since I'm on and off the net all day.

It must look like I spend 15 hours a day on here, checking the forums a hundred times.

And yet really, it's only 12-14 hours a day.... never checking the forums more than 50X a day.

And, I can stop anytime I want to.

Just not today, OK? I really need this just for today.....

hey man... i have been clean and sober for at least, like, 2-3 months. havent even had the urge..

peter- i think its the joke of butt ports? i dont think i am helping myself any...?

and i browse in and out of here all day. no guilt.

I really love the "Who's Online" feature. It's nice to know who's here. That being said, I always do feel guilty when I see someone else checking who's online at the same time I'm checking.

HOWEVER, unless that person is rapidly refreshing the page, since he was there before I was, all I gotta do is get outa Dodge BEFORE he knows that I caught HIM!

This also prevents anyone from catching ME!
Posted By: alou Re: On line - 03/17/05 03:13 PM
I go to "Who's Online", then walk away...sometimes I'm there for days at a time...

What happens if I have 2 browsers open? Will it show me in 2 places at once?
Posted By: alou Re: On line - 03/17/05 03:16 PM
Nope. That didn't work...

...and I changed from "addict" to "old hand" with that little outburst. When do I reach "old fart"?
Posted By: dmn23 Re: On line - 03/17/05 03:29 PM
Nah, I don't mind. Very often I'll use the "Who's Online" feature so see who's making a new reply. It's a good way to keep up with new posts.

I'm also another one of those folks who appears to spend much more time browsing the board than I actually do. I use Firefox at home and at work, so there are always multiple tabs open. The Axiom board is usually one of them.

That's pretty funny John.
I"m just tripping over humour in the forums today.
Posted By: Tharkun Re: On line - 03/17/05 05:38 PM
Yep, lost of humor, and could not have a better day for it either, thanks guys. Also, we have at last count, 5 boxes online 24/7, so Im guilty of checking whos online and then walking away or the forum page is burried under one of my monitors and forget about it. LOL

Speaking from personal experience, in about 30 years.

I like Jack, he makes me feel young.
Posted By: bigjohn Re: On line - 03/17/05 05:59 PM
ray= older than dirt.
jack= dirt..

Posted By: bray Re: On line - 03/17/05 06:02 PM
I thought it was...
Ray=dirt.
Jack= rocks (as in gravel)

hey, as long as we can swirl them together and make some good solid concrete, who cares!!

I may be the most infamous of the Who's Online crowd. It's almost always up on one of the computers I'm on at any given time. It's like crack, man! The original reason I left it up is that it's the fastest way to know if you've got a PM. Now, it's just what I do...
Posted By: alou Re: On line - 03/17/05 07:53 PM
Ok, so let me get this straight...

old hand + 30yrs = old fart
old fart + Ray = dirt
dirt + Jack = rocks

..therefore, old fart + Ray + Jack = concrete

Is this correct? (Boy, this "new" math is killin' me...)
Posted By: Ken.C Re: On line - 03/17/05 07:53 PM
And if you're old enough to remember new math...
Posted By: Ajax Re: On line - 03/17/05 09:34 PM
This has been the craziest day. Contentious threads going on here and at av123, with a lot of vitriol flying, and yet I've laughed, involuntarily aloud, at far more really funny posts today, than I usually do. BigJohn, THAT was funny (except, there are some here who also, only with more malevolent intent, would equate me with dirt. )

Let's just be clear on the important stuff. I have more natural teeth left than Jack and my ear hair is groomed better.
Posted By: pmbuko Re: On line - 03/17/05 11:33 PM
Have you tried pulling on the (few) hairs on your scalp? I hear they're connected to your ear hair. The only problem is that the hairs pass directly through the part of your brain responsible for good judgment, so be careful.

Yeah, but look at those eyebrows in that pictu....

Oh..

That's his dog?

You can go into your profile and disable the feature so you won't show up in the Who's Online section.
