i'm currently burning it. it's the full album.
try downloading it if you're that curious. the torrent with RNS written in it seems to be the highest quality one so far.
have fun
my first impressions are that it is a good album. it's much better than i thought it would be, as i thought it would suck
i'll be buying it in dvd-a when it's released may 3rd.
I'm getting it on DVD-A when it comes out. I have heard a couple of tracks, but I've waited this long, so I'll wait another 11 days to hear the whole thing on CD.
Eh, some of the songs are better than I was expecting, but I'm still not in love with it. At least not yet. I'm buying it (the DD version), sure, and I'll give it a few runs. But the good to meh song ratio is pretty low on first playthrough for me.
Here's hoping I warm up to it!
There are a couple of tracks on the Best Buy site that I have listened to. I expect that it will take a couple listens and will grow on you. Most albums that don't burn out quickly do, and I still listen to all his old stuff. 4 of the 6 CD's in my car changer right now are NIN. (A perfect circle and RAGE are the others).
Joe,
I agree with you, there are a about 5 or 6 tracks that i skip. but i quite like the ones that i like.
i'll buy it in dvd-a on may 3.
is it just me, or would sunspots be an awesome song if there wasn't that wailing blender vaccuum sound?!
Yah, Sunspots would be better if the 'arrangement' were reworked a little. Indeed, I could probably say that about a few of the songs I don't like.
My initial reaction is that the album opens and closes relatively strongly, with a lot of the weaker material mixed in the middle. Not a 100% accurate description, but my general sense. I started out impressed, got bored, then my ears perked up again.
I'll also get the DVD-A version because there's no reason not to (preorder price is the same as the redbook, so I imagine that will hold true one it's out). I listen to it a couple of times before coming to any conclusions...
Joe,
i got the same feeling. the first two and last two tracks are some of the strongest. the song with teeth has also grown on me a lot. i also like only
You want to hear the whole album? Check this out!

On second thought...skip this. Whoever put it up there did...as in album is full of skips in the playback that is provided. I tried to listen to the beginning and felt I was just ruining my experience. I'll wait another week.
If any of you NIN fans are Mac users, you can
download a GarageBand file of the single from the new album.
There is a way to do it on PC too, but it is not as easy. I'd have to dig up the link again. I didn't try it. I did find the CD on another site where it doesn't skip. www.theninhotline.net has the link in the news section for today. Looks like I am listening now after all
I tried it out on my Mac at work and it's cool how you can selectively turn off and enable tracks. You can even make Trent sound like Alvin the Chipmunk!
NIN put that site up, Zarak, on myspace.
i haven't tried it as i have the album.
apparently Trent wants to release another album within the year. we'll see!!!
The one on myspace is the one that is skipping. www.muchmusic.com has the one with Realplayer that doesn't skip. Only problem is you need to open each one as a separate song. So every time a song ends I am getting up to start the next one (I have it hooked up to play through the Axioms from my laptop, so the laptop won't reach it's normal spot)
Zarak,
i'm listening to the myspace one right now - no skipping.
maybe your connection is not fast enough? it's a fairly good quality sound for streaming audio, and considering it's the entire album.
you could not even buy the album, just listen to this stream. i wonder if it will affect sales. then again, i doubt it will. people who want to download it will do that anyway, and those who want to buy it will buy it.
I presume at some point, they'll take down the stream?
I imagine the only way it'll affect sales is if people who were going to buy it heard the stream and decided not to.
I'm surprised I missed this, it was posted to usenet over 13 days ago!
Grabbing a copy now.
No, I have cable modem and speed is good. The realplayer ones on the other site worked fine. No matter, I put down a deposit for a preorder today on the Dualdisc. I am picking it up Tuesday morning, then I have at least a 40 minute drive to get to work that day from there, so I'll get to listen some too
I think Philly radio finally realized an album was coming out. I was driving home in the car from a weekend away and one station 93.3, played THTF followed by Head like a Hole. Then, I flipped to another station, 94.1 and they were playing All the Love in the World, which I couldn't believe I was actually hearing on the radio. Then, to make it even better, they followed that with Every Day is Exactly the Same, and even added in one more when the played the title track, With Teeth.
It was some type of exposed segment where they apparently play parts of new albums that are about to come out. Just two more days and it's out!
