Any rumors about a new product / model?
Posted By: spiffnme Re: 25th anniversary - 06/01/05 03:34 PM
Nope...but we could start some, no?

I just heard that there's a new super center coming out. Dual 6.5" woofers...also an Axiom line of amplifiers and pre-amps. A 2-channel, and a 7 channel.

How's that for rumours?

I have an inside source at Axiom, and they are working on a new DLP based Front Projector that will be Aspect Ratio user selectable, for example, a native 2.35 option. That way you won't have to build a constant height screen, use a panamorph lens, or have an elaborate masking system.

What about the new free high gloss finish?

The President himself started working on Outdoor and in-wall speakers about three years ago.

Gimme gimme gimme.

Here's one that is a favorite as an urban myth:
They are redesigning the speaker line with real wood veneers.

yep...real wood veneers and the gorilla ports will be solid marble. Those special edition models will also come with heavy duty grill covers that magnetically "click" on and off very easily. I've even heard the binding posts will be the exclusive WBT gold binding posts.

Marble gorilla ports? Craig, you've got me worried.

How about a Shania Twain Signature model?

A Commemorative Putter, perhaps?

Powered Towers?

How about the discontinuation of the M40?

Does that count...oh, this is a fact, not rumour.

I'll order mine with the Monkeywood veneer and the marble Pongo Ports.

Add the new O'range-O-Tan grille cloth, and you have the new Simian Special!

But don't quote me on this as being a real rumor!

I've already ordered the 25th anniversary edition M80, QS8 and EP600 system for my crew cab pickup truck...the new Rotel amps and tuner ought to get this new 'mobile' system humming right along whenever I'm cruising down I95.

I just browsed the newsletter. M40s are being clearanced out at 40% off. I'm tempted. Small 2 way floorstanders for the price of M22s.

I know. I wish I need a pair of speakers. That price is terrific.

If the M40s are going bye-bye and this would be proof that they are, the next question that comes to mind is that leaves a pretty good whole in Axiom line-up of speakers. I just wonder if there is a new product on the horizon. Maybe a m22-like floorstander??? I didn't see anything about that in the newsletter!

I'm glad the newsletter came up. I didn't think I had gotten it, then I checked the junk mail folder in hotmail and it got put in there. Should be safe from now on.

Or just a bigger, beefier bookshelf speaker. 1 6.5" woofer, 1 5.25" midrange, and 1 tweeter.

Sounds good to me.

I like your bigger center channel speaker suggestion. I'd like to see Axiom make their surrounds play down to 60hz as well. Then I can crossover my sub at 60 Hz and have no worries about "holes" in my music and have my Hsu play the lowest of the low notes. I'm imagining it already...

A big beefy center channel would be very nice, as someday I'll likely have a wall mounted tv, and I'll have a big empty cabinet top to place a center on.

Surrounds that go down to 60hz is another terrific idea.
