Thanks

Wow!!!

Things have changed since I was a kid.....back then all the teams had a chance to play each other at least once in a season, and each team had ice outside the stadium on the ground, and not just in a drink glass!

Lighten up, Ken. For some reason the photo shows in the preview and won't reproduce in the thread. I'm working on it.

Yes, let us all worship the broken link.

Man that is weird. Shows up perfectly in the preview, won't show in the thread. Hmmm.

That's very strange. Just giving you a hard time, didn't mean to offend. What's the URL?

HAH! Finally got one to work. Sheesh! Thanks anyway, Ken. No offense taken. Just frustrated with my own inability.

Sidney & Mario playing on the same line is going to be something unbelievable to watch! It'll be even better when Mario and the rest of the owner uproot and move to Winnipeg. Go Jets Go!

Now that's just too cool!

I grew up on Mandon lake, in Union Lake!!
Learned to ski jump on Sylvan Lake in the late 50s!

Small World, it would seem

I gotta think Sidney will take a year or two to be as good as he is hyped on an NHL level...I don't know how much longer Mario will play. It'll still be fun to watch though.

do you think they (the nhl) gave crosby to the penguins because they are the worst franchise financially? 1 so he can save that franchise and 2 because they would be the first to fold and if they did would make the agreement look bad because it is supposed to save the poor franchises. not saying i think so just curious of the possibility.

..........and the new look NHL is off and running!

In reply to:

The Philadelphia Flyers have decided to buy out the contracts of veteran forwards John LeClair and Tony Amonte. LeClair spent 10 years with the Flyers, and was a member of the famed "Legion of Doom'' line with Eric Lindros and Mikael Renberg in the mid-1990s.

We've known the Flyers were going to do that for a while. I don't mind losing either of them. LeClair is not the player he once was and was way overpaid at 9 million a year (pre rollback). Amonte was only here for a little over one season, and I was never that impressed by him. Gotta free up some space somewhere.

As far as the Penguins getting Crosby, it was a ping pong ball lottery. No, I don't think they rigged it for Pittsburgh to win, if that is what you are asking.
Posted By: sidvicious02 Re: Hockey Lottery Results - 07/25/05 05:31 PM
that will be one amazing line up in Pittsburg, can you say biggest single season turnaround in NHL history? Sidney-Mario-Recchi on first line, then Malkin-Morozov on line 2 and they are talking about a big free-agent signing - maybe Palffy or Kovalev. All they need is a couple of solid D-men to help out Fleury and they will be a contender in 06. Very interesting.

Sounds like that lottery was huge news for Pittsburg too, apparently there ticket office was absolutely flooded with calls the next day (though they wouldn't discuss actual sales numbers) and have sold season tickets to people in 10 different states!

Zarak, i must agree with you on Philly's plays this past weekend, though I'm a little surprised they didn't even attempt to trade for a draft pick of some sort. Not sure who would want them at those salary levels, but you never know. I've always thought Amonte was grossly over-rated. LeClair has always been a great player - was a huge part of Montreal's win in 93, but he has certainly slowed down in the past 3-4 years. Effective still, but definitely not what he was.

All I can say is this is going to be the greatest off season ever!
