This would seem to signal it. How can you have major vendors produce competing formats? Have they not learned from SACD/DVDA, DAT, Digital Compact Cassette (remember that?), Minidisc, etc? Perhaps they think it'll be like VHS & Beta where one side finally won by default... Highly unlikely...
