John and I made a trip out to the house on 12/02/05 and it was snowing some that morning, as it did for most of the 4 days I was in Ontario. I had a new Dodge Charger as a rental car, but it was parked in the driveway the entire visit. John was kind enough to use his Jeep, which was great for the weather and also for taking the dogs along with. Here is the Jeep in the driveway at the new house, as you can see in the background, John has no neighbors acroos the street from his place, or on either side of his property, my idea of a great way to live.

This is the view of the house from in front of the Jeep, now that the outdoor lighting for the house is in place, the house must look great at night.
Being from WA state and living on acreage all of my life till 1996, seeing the house and the 50 acres of trees was almost enough to make me move to Ontario.

Here is the lucky owner of the estate, John is standing in the covered area that is great for the winter weather, the entrance to the house is to
his right. The first window to his right is in the entrance area of the house, the second window to the right is the kitchan area.

This is the kitchen area, John did take my suggestion of raising the appliances, especially the dishwasher, much easier to load/unload
without having to bend over all the time. The window has a view of the driveway, so time at the sink is more pleasant. The kitchen design
is very functional and with the addition of having solid granite counter tops, it will be a great area to work in.

This shows the oven and another one of my favorite things to add to a kitchen, a warming drawer below the oven. In the background of
John, is a large closet in the entrance area, great storage for the coats and boots for winter. Behind and to the right of the closet is
the stairs that lead down to the basement, along with stairs to the loft area. The fireplace seperates the kitchen/dinning area from the
great room, and just above the firebox you can see the pizza oven.

Thanks, Dennis !

I just have to make one point -- while I do have trouble keeping my living space tidy, the pile of garbage beside the fireplace in the last picture is NOT a result of my poor housekeeping

I meant to mention that the house was still not finished, and the boxes seen were items waiting to installed, and the pile by the fireplace was garbage, and not fuel for the firplace.
Spectacular!! The best compliment I can think of at the moment is that I have NO plans to show those photos to my wife. You guys think Hi-Fi upgradeitis is bad...

Lovely home, John.

Beautiful house! Quick question...are you going to leave the ceiling as-is in the picture or are you going to hang drywall? From what I can see, the wood beams look really nice. I can even smell it! Sounds odd, but I like the smell of fresh lumber.

Definitely leaving the ceiling as-is in the kitchen / dining room area. I haven't figured out what to do for lighting over the kitchen island (drywall would be real handy for hiding pot lights and wires) but I definitely wanted that exposed timber-frame look under the loft.

Edit -- if you like the smell of fresh lumber, you would have LOVED this :
