OK, it's been a long time coming, but you board members are finally getting your well deserved "Thank you!"

As you know I've been slowly trying to put together the ultimate video gaming setup together for Roger. Well, tonight one of the very last pieces came together. So, outside of getting him a 42" LCD monitor, he's done!

You guys were a tremendous help through the entire process. Computer building tips, tracking down hard to find speakers, even free subwoofer offers! I can't thank you enough. Many of you really went out of your way to help me out.

So...here's what we finally ended up with!

SOUNDS
Axiom MZero mains
Axiom VPZero center
Axiom QS2 surrounds
Infinity PS-8 subwoofer
Pioneer VSX-D514

SIGHTS
Dell 21" CRT Monitor

COMPUTER
Intel 3.2Ghz P4
Intel 945P ATX Motherboard
2GB Corsair DDR2 667Mhz RAM
Sapphire Radeon X800XL Ultimate 512MB
Creative Labs Soundblaster Live! 5.1
Aspire 520 Watt power supply
NEC CD/DVD burner
Seagate 250GB SATA drive
Cooler Master Centurian C5 Case
Cooler Master Hyper 48 Heatsink/Fan

I know, I know, you guys (as well as the rest of the world suggested an AMD system, but like I said, Roger wasn't comfortable with the idea. Regardless, he LOVES the new system. Lagforge is a thing of the past. (WoW people will know what I mean)

The Dell monitor was just over $100 delivered...and it gives a really amazing picture.

The Pioneer reciever was a refurb on Ebay...again real cheap, and it does what I need.

The speakers were a real challenge. As you know every one of those Axiom models are no longer in production. A lot of finagling (is that how you spell that?) had to be done, but in the end with a lot help from you guys, I was able to put together a mini Axiom system for Rog.

The Infinity subwoofer was a GIFT! Yep...certainly more than we needed, but how can you turn down a free sub?

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Never,
But you would have had it for all 2 days, then been back on the hunt for something better!

Great job, spiff. Well done!

We are slowly assembling a similar, in concept, set-up to replace our current, somewhat aging, computer, but one real stumbling block IS an adequate set of speakers!

Our son is using a "creative" set with his computer/gaming rig, and is happy with it, but if I had my choice, I'd really rather go with Axiom as well!

Great job you did getting those hard to find speakers. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a set back when my local B&M store carried them. How's the sound?

They sound terrific. We've also got a pair of M2i's for music playback.

We've got a possible issue with the 3.2Ghz P4...I ran cpu-z and it's showing up as a 3.2Ghz P4, but it's running at 2800Mhz (+/-). Any ideas? Hopefully this is an easy setting in the bios to fix. btw...what's the best message board/forum for these types of computer questions? (Though with the gang we have here I suspect I can get all my answers here as well!)
