Anyone have any experience with these? They get fantastic reviews and I'm about to pull the trigger and buy one. Would appreciate any input from anyone who owns or has seen one of these screens.

Perforated screens are ideal for those who are concerned more about room aesthetics than picture or sound quality. For their purpose they are fantastic as they can be used to hide the speakers. That being said, they can degrade both the picture quality (unless you are sitting FAR back in which case it may be imperceivable) and the audio quality as well.

For some this is not really an issue. I don't think anyone on this forum with projector screens (myself included) have perforated screens. If you do use one, you may have to incorporate parametric equalization to compensate for anomalies created by the perforated screen. If you are happy with the sound, that is all that matters. Is there no way you can demo a screen?

Very well put Bruce, I'm not a big fan of perforated screens. One of my friends has a Dazian perfed professional theater screen and personally I think both the sound and visual suffers. The perf material only enhances any screendoor/pixelation you already see with projectors. I suppose if you had a long throw projector, and were sitting a long ways back, like in IMAX theaters, you would not notice. But for an IMAX type setup, your talking big bucks.
