A year ago I auditioned a pair of RF3's and did like them, however, after some various music listening, the horn tweeter design gave my ears fatigue. In my opinion, the m60ti's are in a different league, just my 2 cents. Can't comment on the models you mentioned...

how long of an audition, and how loud did you have it to cause your ear fatigue?

I probably should not have used the term fatigue. I guess what I was trying to say is I didn't like the "Horned" sound produced for the music/movies we listened to, to me it was obviously different than the titanium type tweeters on my Axiom's. I think when some people talk about the sound being harsh sometimes with Klipsch, I think they are referring to the unique sound the horn tweeters produce, just not for me long term.

I owned a pair of Klipsch KLF-20s for a few years. The Klipsch sound is very particular. On the plus side, the sound is very immediate, or forward, and can be exciting on certain material--worked very well for HT. On the bad side, long term listening was an issue with fatigue. This is something Klipsch gets hammered on over and over again, so it is extremely important to spend a good amount of time with a speaker before buying.

i think the dual horn design on the klf20s was a bit too much when it had bad recordings blasting through them,i used to partially block off the midrange horn with bandaids when i wanted to crank up some van halen or sabbath or others like that
but for h/t they were awesome dynamic powerhouses that seemed to have no limits

I agree, Ron. They were the first set of big ol' tower speakers I bought and they were a lot of fun. Like you said, they tended to be somewhat overbearing on certain recordings, but for HT they REALLY rocked. To top it off, I had them set up in a 10x10 room. I'm surprised my ears didn't melt.
