In regards to the room size, either the 60's or 80's would be fine. I have the 60's in a much larger room than yours, and my 60's do an awesome job. What will you be driving the sytem with, that might determine what you order. The 80's being a 4ohm design can sometimes be picky on what AVR's work. If you have Denon, HK they will work for sure. Seperates is another option.

Anyway, what is your budget? Is this for HT or music or both?

Go with the M80s!!! That way you won't have any second thoughts later about upgrading. Mine sound great.

Best of luck whatever you do.

One think about the 80s is the fact that they sound great at low levels as well. The extra drivers just give the sound more character. IMHO.

I would have to agree with that.

Thanks for all the in put I still do know which one but the 80's seem to be a better choice but I could allways go with the 60's and later when I wanted to go with a 7.1 system get a pair of 80's for up front and move the 60's in the back I don't know just a thought it could be a little over kill but when it comes to sound you can never have enough
Thanks again

I was seriously thinking about using M60s for the rear's, but Alan recommended against it. His rationale had to do with the overall sound dispersion.

I ordered 60s and upgraded in the 30 day period. Axiom even paid for return freight for the 60s. I had both sets in the house at one time.

Either way you go both speakers sound great.

Gieseman keep in mind that a pair of floorstanders such as the 60s will be somewhat difficult to physically place as rear surrounds without getting in the way of *something* unless your particular room has ample space for them.

I was seriously toying with the idea of moving our 60s to the rear of our 14x25' dedicated room but kept finding that wherever I placed them they were going to either be in the way of something or they were going to be sticking out into the passage areas .... a couple of rear QS8s were added with our existing side QS8s and the world could not be a happier place, no body's running into to rear speakers and the sound is tremendous.

Right on thanks for the input and your right a pair of 60's in the rear would be in the way and the QS8's would not be. My house is not built yet but when I get in it I will post my view on the Axiom speakers. I have been real happy with Axiom I have wrote in a lot and they have been wondreful I can't wait to hear there speakers. Thanks to all Gieseman

That is an interesting comment about getting in the way of something. Never thought of it just that way, but I think that you are correct!

I decided on the M60's just to avoid any potential issues driving the 4ohm M80's with my Yami V2600. For what it is worth I can drive the M60's without distortion till my ears bleed and am still below the max output of the Yami.

Just for the record, my Onkyo is not one of the "preferred" receivers to drive the 4 ohm M80s. However, I have had NO problem driving them!!!!

Of course that could be a result of my particular receiver or that I do not listen at levels above 90-95 dB SPL.
