1 - I'm looking at your Epic 80 HT and and was wondering what speaker you would reccomend to use as a rear surround? The M2ti looks to be the perfect size for my rear wall but it appears to have a different tweeter (hybrid) than the rest of the set. How would that effect the tonal quality (timbre matched?).

Also it states it can be wall mounted (not rear ported?), is that true of the M3Ti as well?

2 - My theater room is 10.5' W x 22.5' L and I own a Denon 3802 receiver (110w x 7 per spec - ~82W x 7 per S&V). Does that sound like a good match for the Epic 80 set? Some have said the 80Ti's are power hungry.

Thanks in advance!

If you would like to use a direct radiating speaker for your rears then I would suggest the M3 with this system. It is rear ported so a stand off mount would be required and they are widely available. If you are not set on direct radiating rears, then the QS8 is the right choice. The Epic 80 System is actually the opposite of power hungry; it is very efficient and would be a great match for your receiver in your room.

Ian:

I really need something that is wall mountable, but the area of the wall is only 7.5" wide. That's why I asked about the M2Ti, actually a QS-2's would work as well size wise if you believe the quad surround format works better for a rear surround than a direct radiator. It doesn't sound like you would recommend either w/ the Epic 80 system (because of the different drivers?). Am I correct to assume that?

If so, is there a plug available for the M3 I could use to wall mount it?

Given your space limitation I would suggest either the QS2s or the QS4s mounted sideways. I have heard from people who have done this and they say it works great.

Ian,

reading another post, ShadowAce asked you about using a VP100 as a center rear to match his center channel which you thought to be a good idea - A 2nd VP150 of the Epic 80 I'm considering would fit my back wall mounted vertically, would that be a better match sonically since the drivers would match all the way around the room? Is mounting vertically OK for dispersion etc?

Thanks for your patience.

This would be an excellent solution to your space issue, especially if you want to use direct radiating surrounds. This gives you perfect timbre and power matching and it is easy to wall mount the VP150.
