Any sugesstions on how to convert a digital signal to analog so I can receive music channel audio from my Scientific Atlantic HD cable receiver. My ONKYO TX-SR603X zone 2 feature does not recognize digital signals. Hooking up RCA cables to the audio out does not work. Need to be able to switch from analog to digital easily to receive 5.1 digital for movies and other programming.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. ONKYO and Scientific Atlantic have not been of any help. Thanks
The zone 2 on this receiver is for use with other speakers and has it's own amp. For example, you can listen and watch cable tv in the main room and listen to cd music in my garage or patio. Zone 2 does work with my cd player, which is quite old and is hooked up to the ONKYO with RCA cables. I am unable to get any clarification from the manufacturer of the ONKYO or the Scientific Atlantic Cable HD receiver or the cable company. I really can't seem to figure this one out.
Wick, along with Tom, I'm puzzled. I assume that you're referring to the 8300HD. I don't do Zone 2, but I took a look at mine to see what I'd do. You're apparently saying that you connected coaxial cables to the left/right analog outputs on the 8300 but it didn't work? The 603 input is fine because it works with the CD player. Did you check to see if the analog audio outputs on the 8300 are possibly defective(use them into the 603 to try to play regular left/right stereo on your main system).
