I have a Bose system with a Yamaha receiver. I am considering ordering Axiom's Large Center speaker to replace the little center cubes.

I understand that the axiom speaker cannot connect to the Bose system. So would it work connected directly to the Yamaha receiver? Would it sound ok?

Take this with a *large* grain of salt, but it *should* work as long as you can match volume levels between the new center and the other Bose speakers.

Here are a bunch of questions which will help us figure it out :

1. Is the Bose system just the speaker assembly (sub box plus satellite speakers) or does it include DVD player etc... ?

2. Is the Yamaha receiver an AV model, ie at least 5.1 support ? Is your DVD player hooked up to the receiver inputs ?

3. Is the Bose system currently connected to the receiver via speaker-level connections, ie speaker terminals on the receiver go to inputs on the Bose subwoofer box ? If so, there's a pretty good chance this would work as long as you don't mind going into the receiver controls and adjusting the center level (probably down) to match.

Bose System Acustimass With Sub Box (NOT DVD).

Yamaha receiver HTR-5660 DTS. Built in center EQ

Bose speakers connect to sub box and then to the receiver.

Center speaker to small for this room size and new Axiom system not in the budget this year.
