I just hooked up my new tv and in doing so had to unhook my center channel. Listening to analog shows without the center hooked up made this sound very noticable. Most regular channel shows have a wavy/watery sound to the voices. It's more pronounced from channel to channel, but seems to be there on most channels in some form.

Do I have something hooked up incorrectly?

I'd check and make sure your main speakers aren't wired out-of-phase. Double check that the positive wires are going to the positive terminals (and the negative to negative) on each speaker.

Yeah, something doesn't sound right (I mean....something other than the "wavy/watery sound to the voices" ).

If you're listening with the center not hooked up, make sure you disable it in the receiver. If you don't, all the info sent the the center (the majority of voices) gets lost and you'll only hear the echos and other stuff that is sent to the main speakers. You could also just switch your receiver to stereo so that it only sends info to your two mains.
