hi everyone,

I may be just days away from buying a loft.

Being who I am, one of my main concerns is sound quality.

The dimensions are 36 by 22, with 12 1/2 high ceilings. So that's 796 sq feet, 9900 cubed feet.

My speakers are M80's, VP150, QS8's. No sub (at the moment), and no surround sound receiver (at the moment). I will purchase a new receiver if I move there, and at least 1 sub.

How will they sound in a room this size? too much echo? nice and airy? thin bass?

thanks for the replies,
Ravi.

Throw a rug down in front of them. They'll sound just fine. I have a two channel system in a 32 X 26 room with 10' ceilings around the perimeter and up to 23' to the ceiling in the middle of the room. Sounds sweeeeeet and loud as hell.

I had considered that rug option, to reduce the sound bouncing around all over the place.

Well, I haven't bought the loft, but I might... if it's soundproof, I really think I'll want it.

Rug shopping, anyone?
