I just ordered M60 V2, VP-150 and QS8. Is there anyone using Yamaha RX-V2400 here. Please help me to set it up. Should I use the automatic set up option? Thank you.

I don't have a yammie but I think most here will say use the auto system then tweak it as needed. I'm sure a few with the yamaha's will be here soon.....

Horse, welcome. I'm sure that you'll get great enjoyment from those Axiom speakers. A couple years ago I assisted a colleague in setting up his new 2400. I'd suggest that you definitely use the auto-calibration with the exception that you set it to skip the speaker size and crossover frequency adjustments; instead manually set all speakers "small" with a 80Hz crossover.

The second auto feature is room equalization, and this has mixed reports, with some finding improvement while others considered that it sounded worse. We found it beneficial when the equalization was set to emphasize the low frequency correction. You should experiment with this at your leisure to see if the results are pleasing to you.

Horse, I've used both the YPAO and self calibration. Currently I have my settings on the EQ as all 0 or in the middle. So far I am happy with this setting. Set your speakers to "small" and 80hz crossover. By all means, if you are not happy with a neutral EQ setting, then use the YPAO. Results will vary from room to room. My recommendation is experiment and let your ears decide.

I have a slightly different model (RX-V4600), and I used the auto set up as a base to start from. It did a fair job for almost everything but I disabled the auto eq so the speakers would play naturally. There was also an article I came across which referenced doing this as well.

You should be able to save the settings both ways and flip back and forth to hear the difference yourself. I saw it in my manual but I think the function is slightly different in mine..
