I'm almost ready to install my QS8s in my finished basement, and one of the speaker positions is giving me a problem.

I want to mout the full metal bracket on a small partition that hangs down.

The problem is that the hardware holes on the bracket will be too low.

If I was to disassemble the bracket, and mount it with long portion at the bottom, would that be acceptable?

That might give me the clearance I need.

As long as you are screwed into something solid it shouldn't matter.

Well, they're up, and the one speaker seems to be hanging from the inverted "full metal bracket" quite well...

The only thing that bothers me is that the screw that normally would enter from the "top" of the bracket, was originally designed to lock the speaker in position "left to right", and now that same screw, now inverted, is load bearing, with the full weight of the QS8 (plus a bit more because of the leverage) on it.

Should I be panicking...and pardon the previous run-on sentence.

Perhaps one of the Axiom staff could chirp in?

Thanks in advance.

This is a welcome question as I am wondering the same thing, inverted FMB strength.

The alternative I'm considering is to drill through the bracket and insert a pin.

That'll take the load off of the screw.
