I'm moving into a new house (woo hoo!) and we finally have the space to create a dedicated media room. As a result, I have the option now of splitting up my current system to make a system for my master bedroom and media room. I've got M22's that I could use for the bedroom as a stereo system but then I'd need an AVR to power that system. Then I could buy new M60's (or M80's) for the media room. I could opt for a Yamaha YSP-800 and it would provide surround sound and AVR functionality. I've heard it at CES and was impressed in the demo room. My bedroom would actually have a pretty ideal setup for the YSP since it's symmetrical and has 4 walls.

Anyone used the YSP or Surroundbar themselves? Anyone hear it at someone's house?

My friend has a YSP but his room is not ideal because of open walls so it's only OK.
A friend has the Yamaha (it's the older, higher-in-the-line model). I think it is amazing/fantastic/wonderful. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for a bedroom or secondary viewing system.
I have the YSP-800 installed in my bedroom and have been very pleased with the sound. Obviously it does not compare to my Axioms but in the bedroom its ideal. The main benefit is the built in amplifier thereby requiring a small footprint. I also added the sub-woofer that Yamaha pairs with system. We primarily watch television in that room and once in awhile a DVD. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Framer.

What's your room look like? Do you have 4 bare walls? Square or rectangular?

My bedroom is square w/ 4 walls, so it seems pretty ideal.
Four bare walls and room is square. The unit is mounted at 7 feet up from the floor and 3 feet off center of wall.
