Hi,

I am setting up my HT and I was wondering which A/V receiver to get. I am looking for a receiver that has 3 HDMI (1 output, 2 inputs), have 7.1, can do 8 and 4 ohms (considering getting the M80's). I was thinking of getting the Onkyo TX-SR674. But I heard people had problems with the receiver.

My budget is about ~$1000 or less.

Look at the Denon website. All Denons drive the M80s (even though not spec'd to 4 Ohms). They are very reasonably priced. I am very happy with my 2105 (which is a bottom end Denon).

That's the first time I've ever seen Denons referred to as reasonably priced...

Denon or HK are great for 4 ohm loads.

I quite like Denon myself. You can find their products much cheaper, refurbished, at www.ecost.com, if you'd like. They have some lower end Denon's for less than $200, and mid range for less than $600.

from checking out DENON's site, if I was to choose DNEON I would opt for the AVR-2807 or AVR-2307CI.

I'm going by personal experience. I bought my 2105 2 years ago for $Can350. When I found out everything it could do for that price, I was shocked. I was also surprised when I confirmed that they could easily drive M80s.
