I recently moved, and in my current living room, I don't really have any close walls to either side of my listening position.
I am wondering if I could ceiling mount my QS8's? I know I physically could, but how would that sound, in your opinion?
Funny you should ask... here were the replies a few months ago

By ceiling mount, do you mean hanging down from the ceiling on a bracket?
I hang mine from the ceiling bulk head about 7 ft off the floor with my DIY shelf brackets, works fine. If you use an Omnimount or one of Axiom's new ceiling Qs8 brackets you will be fine, just allow at least 4-5" of breathing room for the top driver.
I mean using the T bracket that the QS8 comes with, but putting it on the ceiling as opposed to the wall...
I'd be afraid of the QS8 sliding out. The bracket doesn't hold it in from all sides.
The QS8 will slide out. The bracket doesn't hold the QS8 on the bottom...top only.
Plus, not really sure you would get a good sound experience with the tweeters aimed down and the woofers sideways. You want to hear the sound traveling from speaker to speaker.
It's possible as long as you secure the top of the QS8 with something so it doesn't slide off the bracket and clock someone on the head.
I've ordered FM ceiling brackets from Axiom for the QS8's. It's worth the money!
