While perusing through the Axiom website (being a future customer deciding on a system) I was just curious how long the Version 2 of the speakers have been out for and if there are any version 3's in the works now, besides the EP350 V3 or other lines, and if when could we expect to see them? Just a curiosity
Thanx Chris

The v2s have been out for several months. I've heard nothing even remotely official about v3s.

This is a great post for Ken to reply to and then have someone from Axiom come in and throw him off with a new update. Ha-ha sorry it happened a few times and I had to put it in here.

The version 2's have been out for awhile but were only re-launched/labelled within the last year I believe. I found a post from May 2006... Axiom Released V2

Like any good company new things are always tried and if they prove beneficial they make the revision.

With that being said, I'm sure Axiom has things going on but doubt we would see any new revision for alittle while. Unless they want to start using the drivers without dustcaps as desired by a couple of the other forum members. Personally, I would like to see a change to the grilles like with the new audiobytes that have magnetic grilles...

Too funny, I was posting this before yours was there Ken. Yours ended up before mine which is even better now if Axioms decides to enlighten us..

Heh... you're right. Axiom's now due to release v4s and M15000, or whatever Hutz is calling them now. ;\)

I think it's bad business practice for a company to reveal its new models prematurely particularly when it is already selling "old" models. It really creates a hole in revenue because customers defer their purchases until the new models are out.

There seems might be a different story for each of their changes (EP-350 v3 is a big change, for example), but from what I gathered, the difference between the last-built M80ti and the M80v2 is minimal. There might be a bigger difference between the first built M80ti and the current M80v2 though.

If you are truly holding out to buy because you are worried they will get a new model out as soon as you order, you may as well contact them directly. If you ask them, you may get an answer. If you don't, you sure won't get any answers!

I was told in an email directly from Axiom that they are coming out with a new model that can outperform the M80s. I posed this question before I bought my M80s (less than a month ago). My query specifically asked if a new model will be coming out in a month or so and they replied "not in that timeframe", but I could buy the M80s now and upgrade when the newer model comes out.

I couldn't wait, so I pulled the plug :-)

Tex,
you are hereby invested with a mission: on december 6, do not sign any NDA and come back with details on our future main speakers.

{rapidly editing my powerpoint for the 6th}

LOL.

It's funny you mention NDAs, Eric. I had to turn down a few jobs as of late due to overly restrictive NDAs. What happened to trust in the world?

Trust went to work for another company and left with the water cooler (and possibly even with a stapler).

Sure, sure... \:\)

Sorry guys, but if you are referring to me, nobody told me to keep it confidential. Someone on the forum asked a question and I replied to it.

Wheelz, I assume you are being facetious, but in case you are not, then no-one were refering to you at all. The exchange was because Axiom will be at Calgary on Dec 6th. Sorry if that wasn't clear. ;\)

Sorry guys for taking it the wrong way.

Amie,

My house is just about 5 min's from the seanachie...why don't you bring your new speaker model, and we can all go back to my place for a critical listen?

uh oh... I hope the upgrade bug doesn't bite me

Oh man - did some guy from the bar just invite me back to his place?
Posted By: EFalardeau Re: New versions - 11/22/07 10:43 PM
Especially if you are the "speaker" at the get together! ;\)
Posted By: Hutzal Re: New versions - 11/22/07 10:44 PM
Perhaps I should have said that differently...why don't you and ALAN bring the new M1000000000000v1, and WE will ALL (all the Axiomites coming out) go back to my home theatre for a listen

Now you are really making it difficult for me to stay at work that night.
Posted By: bridgman Re: New versions - 11/22/07 11:19 PM
Is Amie driving to Calgary ? It seems unlikely that anything capable of outperforming M80s is going to fit in the carry-on luggage.
Posted By: jakewash Re: New versions - 11/22/07 11:20 PM
They could ship them to my place first and then take them over.
