Hi there.
I recently moved into a new home that lucky for me came with a very nice 50" HD plasma tv mounted on the wall above the fireplace. Unfortunately it also came with a piece of crap sony home theatre in a box system.
I have since upgraded to an onkyo 705 receiver and I am now looking at speakers.

What I am considering is the M22 v2, QS4, and VP100.

The problem I have is there is lilttle to no space above or below the tv to place the center channel. From the mantle above the fireplace to the bottom of the tv there is about 3 inches.. and from the top of the tv to the ceiling i'd say i've got about 5 or 6 inches. There is space on the left and right of the tv to place the center on it's side (which I've read a few posts here that say not to do), or use something instead of the vp100.
Below the mantle is a bricked in fireplace, so not much option there.

Any suggestions?

Maybe a pair of M2's right next to the screen on either side?

Or, just forego a center as logistics might dictate using a phantom center.

I would measure the temperature above the fireplace when it is on. If it is above 90 degrees F I would move the TV

Thorny, welcome. I'll second Tom's suggestion of vertical M2s at each side of the screen.

David, since the fireplace is bricked in, it appears that we're okay with the temperature on the plasma.

The fireplace is gas and doesn't give off a whole lot of heat, and it is very very rarely used. I'd love to move the tv as I am not a big fan of it's location, but my wife likes it where it is, and I'm not sure where we could move it to anyways.

I'm pretty new to all of this, so how does one hook up 2 M2's to the center channel of my receiver? Do I daisy chain from one to another, or just wire them both up to the center channel jack?

Take your pick. You can wire the centers either way you have described, just do it the easiest way.

I think verticle M2's sounds ideal. Also, it sounds like the heat is not an issue.
