I have been looking at the Klipsch line of speakers because I like the high sensitivity rating and brightness of the speakers. However, I was hoping to find a little more musical speaker as well. Based on the specs and reviews of the Axiom speakers, it seems that they would be exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping someone could give me their opinion on a comparison of Klipsch to Axiom.
My room is 20x13 vaulted. 12' in the front and 8' in the rear. I was looking at getting M22ti's for mains (No room for floorstanding) VP150 for center and 3 QS8 for side's and rear center. I was planning on getting the EP350 for the Sub.

I forgot to mention that I have a Yamaha RX-V1300 Reciever.

I can't stand Klipsch speakers. The horn tweeter is VERY bright to the point of severely coloring the signal. The Axioms are on the brighter side of neutral but only to the point of accuracy, a good thing in my opinion.

The Klipsch RB5s were the main reason why I have poured a whole lot of money into audio in the last few years. I was dragged over to hear them by an excited salesperson and in the store setting I was in they were truly wonderful. When I started to really listen to other speakers in that price range I found that the Paradigm Reference 20s were more enjoyable. Then I took a chance on the Axiom line. Glad I did. Music is fun again.

I have the 1300 as well. I don't have the M22's, I have the M60's, (3) QS8's, VP150 and the EP175. I couldn't ask for a better speaker for the money. You won't go wrong by auditioning the Axioms.

Are you in the US? I have listened to the RF series of Klipsch and thought they were the sound I was looking for since I like clear highs. Then a sales guy had me listen to a pair of Boston Acoustics VR-M60's bookshelf speakers which were wonderful sounding to my ear. Both highs and lows were smoother. Although the highs were crisp and clear like the Klipsch, I found that they were not as overly exaggerated. I didn't buy the BA's because they were $1000/pair which I couldn't justify or even afford spending for a bookshelf speaker. If you live in the US, I would suggest listening the the Boston Acoustics VRM series to get a better idea of what Axiom's sound like. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you like forward and crisp highs. The more I have went back to listen to the Klipsch's, the more happier I am that I bought the Axiom M60's instead.

I think from what I'm hearing, I'll go with the Axiom's. My only question now is how does the EP175 or EP350 compare to the HSU VTF-2 or Adire Rava Sub's. I would love to go with SVS but it's not worth the complaints from my wife.

I've never heard Klipsch's horns described as clear before. Colored and distorted or heavily exagerated, yet, but never clear.

First time I heard Klipsch were La Scala's. Undeniably a "breakthrough" speaker for it's time. My friend had a pair he paid like $5,000.00 for. Efficiency was outstanding, it could play extremely loud. However, my ears felt as though they were being assaulted and I didn't care for them. High frequencies seem to permeate from it, and not as much bass as I thought a speaker that size should put out. I haven't heard new Klipsch but if they are anything like that, I'd pass on them, regardless of price. My Sparkomatic 6x9's probably sound better.

I am an acoustic guitar musician playing traditional north american music. For the music I listen to clarity and detail in the midrange and highs is what counts. Economy is also a factor. When I played my CD collection on my new M22ti's I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I will eventually add an Hsu sub but for now I couldn't be more pleased.

The EP175 is my very first sub. Therefore, I have nothing to compare it to. I'm not the best person to give advice on subs. I can only say that it does what it is supposed to, when it is supposed to and it sounds good when it does...how's that? LOL...
