Purchased back in 1996 ! Not even sure if they had 5.1 back then?
Its been stored for almost 8 years! Works like the day i bought it! Speakers are 80 pounds each!!!!

I was thinking about keeping the speakers but after comparing them to my M3's they just sound awwfull! Thought about replaceing the drivers with new ones but would rather just get the M60's or M80's (M60's boston cherry on there way!!!)

The Bose was my first intro into hometheater and it was a good learning experience! Never buy BOSE.lol It was really my YAMAHA HTR 5660 reciever that got me into hometheater. OPtical 5.1 WOW!

Here's my system now. Still have the HTR5660
(soon to be RVX3800)

PS3 and 360 are HDMI/OPTICAL. The wii and HD Box are Component.
Speakers Are AXIOM's VP-100 VP-150 wired together! EP175 and Q4's. M60's soon to be on the way

Hmm, the towers are quite interesting indeed.
Definitely looks like alot of potential for home speaker design with some new drivers all around.
Someone could probably put together a decent sounding speaker with the cabinet already together.

My Parents had a set of Vivid speakers circa 1985 and at that time they were the best things I had heard. They recently just parted with them.

That looks identical to the receiver I had with my first H/T with JBL bookshelves, terrible center and ridiculous surrounds.

The receiver has been with my dad for the last 7 or so years and still going strong for him with his Bose bookshelves and passive sub.

He really likes Axiom but has no desire to upgrade his system as he's too busy being retired and travelling the world.

I hate parting with it all but i cannot keep storing everything everytime i upgrade !

I listed the BOSE sytem at $600 and have gotten alot of action on it. $200 to $450 offers! (bought it used 7 years ago for $800)

The Tech sytem and speakers were listed as BestOffer and only got a few hits with people asking how much and call me and we will talk! Cant expect to get to much for it \:\(

Did you notice that the obelisk speakers have a frequency response of 10Hz?
Posted By: arcticair Re: By By to old system. - 03/17/08 03:21 AM
Is that good or bad?

It looks to me like they play from 30-20 HZ... so wouldn't that be -10 Hz?

talk about some BASS

mojo- I think it goes down to 30 hz, the 10 goes with the watts.
