I rented Underworld Evolution tonight. Its one of those movies I've been meaning to rent for some mindless entertainment.

The plot was not particularly stirring, but my impression of the EP350 just went up a notch. It actually shook me in some scenes. Cool!

Overall the soundtrack seemed better done than Casino Royalle. I guess they needed more tricks to make up for the complete lack of plot.

I couldn't get into the Underworld films either. A better choice on the mindless entertainment spectrum that has amazing sound is Live Free or Die Hard.

Thanks, I'll have to give that one a try.

Live free or Die Hard is a very good sounding movie. I watched it on DVD and will watch it again on blu-ray if/when I get a bluray player.

I thought that 16 blocks was a much better movie than Die Hard 4. They both had similar stories and were released within a couple years of one another and star Bruce Willis. But, Die Hard 4 was much better than Die Hard 3.

Noted, thanks Nick. I love testing out the capabilities of my new sound system, but for me, movies are about content/plot first.

The BBC production of Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy is one of my all time favourites of that genre.

HERETIC! BURN THE WITCH! BURN!

Err... I agree with you Fred, but the amount of horrible movies that get mentioned here merely because they have good thump, slam, or surround effects is amusing.

I agree with you too Fred. But I also must admit to being guilty of this in my past. ;\)

Like Underworld Evolution?? Sometimes you gotta just do some schlock.

Yikes! My random selection of music of the day (courtesy of WMP) just flipped from Bethoven to some medeocre rock. Gotta go turn the volume down.

Holey compressed noise batman!! Flip...

Ahhhhhhh. SRV, I can crank it again.

Mind candy vs. mind vegetables. Not that vegetables can't also taste really good sometimes. But who wants to demo their theater with an enthralling 3 hour passage of Lawrence of Arabia? A two minute snippet of Fantastic 4 (or some other tripe) does a much better job.

We are all guilty of this.
