i think when i bought it the guy said 6-8 but im not sure does anyone know for sure
I bet that it can power them with no problem. Several of us use the 3808 around here with no problem, and its amp has only 20 wpc more than your denon. I talked to the folks at denon and they said that the 3808 is only suggested for 6 or 8 ohm speakers... yet everyone on here that has a 3808 and m80's has absolutely no problems at all.
I say go for the m80's
Go for the M80s the 988 will work with out any trouble, Denon is rock solid through out their line ups. I ran my M80s with a mid line Denon 1804 and had no problems what so ever; I even had a ~2 ohm center(a VP150 and 2 M22's in parralel) hooked up to it for awhile.
I've run my M80's with and old 1700's series Denon a 3805 and now a 4806 and never had a problem with any of the Denons running the M80's.
okay good i was worried there i got the amp for really cheap so i was hoping i didnt have to change it
The 2805, which I own, is the same thing as the 985, which i older than your Denon. I power 80', vp150, 4 Qs8's, and have 3 subs hooked to mine.
You won't have any issues.
