Hello

My HT room is around 13x13' and my speakers are
front: 2xm22
surr: 2xqs8
center: vp100
sub: psb-12"

I recently bought a pioneer VSX-1018AH-K link link

would i see any benefits of buying a seperate amp to power my fronts (like an onkyo m-282)?

I may buy a pair of m80 next year but I'm not sure when. I don't plan to change any of my speakers in the next six months..

thanks again..

That is plenty of receiver to drive the M22s to very loud levels. If it is 4Ohm stable, it will also be plenty for the M80s.

I don't think there is any reason to buy more amplification unless you upgrade to the M80s and they shut your receiver down.

Don't think for that size room you need any extra amperage, at 130 watts into 8ohms, you probably have to much already.

Sorry Luc, I can't tell you that you'd notice a big improvement with separates either.

However, sometimes it's not a question of "need." One suggestion, if you buy a separate, buy something with a 30-day return policy so that you can do the testing yourself and make your own opinions.

More amps are way less hassle than more wives!
