I have a JVC RS20 on order, but this VW80 from Sony has me intrigued. One thing I’ve found myself objecting to is motion blur. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones who is sensitive to the sample and hold effect that is common with LCD displays. DLP’s don’t have this, but as my luck continues, I’m sensitive to rainbows too. Some of Sony’s displays have what they call Black Frame Insertion. This process, from what I’ve been reading, combats the sample and hold effect and eliminates motion blur. The Sony VW 200 has this feature, but its way out of my price range. The VW80 also has it, but Sony is not going to import this projector to the US.

I’ve tried to search the internet some to find one of these projectors, but haven’t had much luck. I figured I’d ask this crowd for ideas as I know the vast majority of you get along with computers and this on-line stuff better than I do………
The projector is being sold in Australia. Anyone know of a good dealer in Oz?
Mike, you are just really itching to spend some cash \:\) That projector is running for about $8,000 if I'm not mistaken.
Oh that's just MSRP..... Both the Sony and JVC can be bought for around five grand.

I'm tired of crappy shadow detail, mediocre sharpness and motion blur. I was going to pick up a Planner 8150 or Marantz 15S but I don’t like DLP rainbows.

I'm not sensitive to the rainbows, but I do worry about getting a DLP display and finding out friends and family are. Are you sensitive to the rainbows in even the newest DLP products?
I need to read more about projectors. I didn't think I had room... but now I might. Hmmmm...

Also this seemed fitting:
