Sherwood Newcastle R-972 with Trinnov

I have been following the news about the R-972 system with great interest, since it seems to basically be the same as the R-872 with two main additions: Reon upscaler and Trinnov room equalization system. Long delayed, the system is supposedly shipping now...so will Axiom carry this model? Has there been any testing performed at Axiom to indicate that the Trinnov system can perform as advertised with Axiom speakers?

Where did you see that it was now available? The only thing I've seen is "March". Considering the history of the release date of this product it may be based more in optimism than reality.

I would assume that Axiom will eventually add this to their current models. The price and reviews compared to Audyssey are what is going to determine if I'm interested...

Well the official Sherwood site does have it listed as a "New" product, so I guess I naively assumed that meant it was already available. When I went back to the site to check I couldn't find any dealers carrying the Newcastle line (using Sherwood's own website locator) and the "contact us" button on their website was not an active button, so I couldn't call them to follow up. Guess I'll just have to be patient!!

It has been on their website for many months now. I'm anxious to here the reviews when it finally hits the market. They first started talking about it over a year ago, but keep pushing the deadline back...

I was talking to a rep from Sherwood in early November and he told me that a tentative date for release was going to be the end of December. Obviously that hasn't happened yet. Other than Axiom, for those living around these parts there is another outlet located in Oakville, Ontario(Altered Sound). However, when I did talk to the owner, he was somewhat reluctant about the new lines since he has had considerable trouble with the company with respect to Canadian pricing since it was WAY ABOVE the US price even taking into account exchange rates and for sales purposes he is having trouble justifying the difference in relation to the other lines he carries. I have also noticed this unwarranted price differential even with Axiom.

For the record and those in to separates the new forthcoming Outlaw 997 Pre-Pro, as in the past, is basically and with a few changes, a re-badged Sherwood 972 without the amps.

I remember hearing about the 972 way back at the end of 06 - beginning of 07 and it was supposed to be released at the same time as the 3808. I got tired of waiting and went for the 3808.
