You have mentioned that you would want to go with a QS8 in a medium to large room. What dimensions or room volume would you say meets that criteria? At what size would the transition start?
I need to chime in here.
I have a small room, 20 by 12, and I much prefer the QS8's over the QS4's. In a room that is 250 sq feet or less, the QS4's will suffice, but you will always get better sound out of QS8's.
If you can afford them, buy them.
Uhh... What do they mean by dual 1-inch "hybrid" tweeter in the QS4 specs? Some kind of hybrid materials used?
Ravi, have you listened to both models in your room? How would you characterize the difference?
Sushi, it refers to a 1/2" rather than 1" voice coil. The 1" allows for greater power handling and for setting a lower crossover point. What's "hybrid" about that, I'm not sure. You could search "hybrid(and)tweeter" for some past discussion.
This post might clear it up

Hi,
Thanks to all for responding to ajb. I wouldn't add anything other than that the QS4s are fine for a den, bedroom, or modest living room (as opposed to an immodest one--ha, ha). But I certainly prefer the QS8s.
