3D Blu-rays Hitting PCs in 2010 (High-Def Digest)Might be something I'll try. I assume this will also work with 120Hz TVs and projectors?
No, it won't work with most displays on the market at this point in time. While some LCD sets do refresh at 120 Hz, they only accept 24, 30, and 60 Hz signals and do the frame replication internally. The display would have to actually advertise and accept 120 Hz on the input for a connected computer to be able to use these glasses in tandem.
Ahh, okay. I suppose trying their 3D on just a computer monitor would be fine, but I'll at least wait until there are more options than just the Acer.
There should be LCD TVs and other displays which support 120 Hz input soon too. The shutter glasses are the way 3D is going to be done it seems.
Sony claims the PS3 will support 3D gaming with just a firmware update, and that many games will get it automatically without any patches needed.
Oh, yeah, I did see that mentioned. I still need to get a PS3 to replace the one I gave away... after I actually build my new computer.
Wow, so the 65 inch 60 hz LCD tv I bought back in the spring is obsolete is now then eh? Fantastic!
Ok ok, so I conceed that not being able to play the newest 3D movies isn't exactly a deal breaker... Still, its annoying that I'll be unable to do all there is to do with my display.
At 60hz, you can have half of 3D, which is 1.5D. With 1.5D, you can see the arms of characters as if they were out of the screen, but their legs and faces will remain flat.
Only the left one stands outs.
