I have a small room 11 x 10.5
I just purchased W150, W22 & QSs

For the room. totally for looks, I'd like to cover the screen wall with a veneer covered core that matches the Axiom veneer and finish. (Boston Cherry) to "Darken Up" the sceen wall/

I dont know from .... about acoustics. Would this cause bad reflections, or be okay.

The remaining 3 walls would all be paint on drywall

Thanks

Jeff

I can't see it being any worst than the dry wall. I'd just paint it, dark red looks real nice and gives a dark background for viewing.

I can have the guys at work make the wall paels with veneer and matching finish and install it ... probably easier and cheaper than paint

I prefer my leather jacket black wall, you want the screen to float in space with no reflections.

Curious, we also have leather at work, so you did the whole wall in leather? anything behind it? stuffing, foam? Hmmmmm...... Never crossed my mind but a nice option! I can get that easier than the veneer and finish

Leather Jacket was the name of the paint I got at Lowes or Home Depot, can't remember. The brand was probably Valspar or Behr...any flat black will work. The sides wall generally should be a darker color as well. You don't want reflections from the projector, and you don't HAVE to use black.

You could also opt for some sheets of luan plywood or similar with whatever stain you decide upon, in place of the veneer as sometimes the veneer can get pricey. Actually, imo, it might look nicer to compliment the speakers with a slightly different coloured stain on the wall to give some contrast vs trying to match the wall to the speakers.

As far as paint goes, flat burgungy, plum, hunter green, slate blue......lots of choices.

Of course, once Randy painted that wall with "Leather Jacket", it started smoking and hanging around with some "bad" walls on in the corner....

Yes, and then his wall went off and got a tattoo of a big heart that said 'Mom' in the center of it. But the sad news came last week when we all found out his wall had been killed in a freak motorcycle accident.... R.I.P. \:\(

When the wall died, it left a ceiling behind with no support.
