Received My M60's 6/9/03. The Sound Was Good
Right Out Of Box. A Lot Better Then Expected.
Did Not Want To Post. Becauce Wanted To Use Setup
Disk First. Now They Sound A Lot Better. Also Want
To Say Thanks. I Learned A Lot From From Reading These Posts.

remember, keep those m60's about 8-12 feet apart, and sit a good 8-12 feet away from them, if possible.

Yeah, a good 2 feet is great distance from the wall

Just don't put them so far away from the back wall that they start getting close to the front wall...

I just had to jump in here as I'm considering the 60's. I need to keep them about 1 foot from the sidewalls. Is this going to impede impaging aolt? I assume the 2 foot sidewall guideline is for soundstage purposes. maybe I'm wrong. I don't want to inhibit their performance.

One foot from the side wall shouldn't be a problem provided that you have at least 6' between each front speaker. My M60s are within one foot of each side wall (on either side of corner home entertainment center so that they're angled). I haven't experienced any problems with this setup.
