Just got mine today, phew, at least I know the deal wasn't a fluke.

Unfortunately, my house is not done yet so it'll be at least a month before the HT is ready to be reassembled, so no play time for a while.

I was looking through the manual (yeah, I know, who does that nowadays?) and noticed a few things that I either didn't know, understand, or was surprised to find out.

1) The manual seems to indicate that I can see the AVR's volume controls superimposed on the HDMI. I want to see the volume levels on any source I'm watching/listening to. Is this true?
2) I didn't know that the network capability allows you control it via web browser. Has anyone tried it? Do you get ALL the funtions? That would be great for me, since the AVR will actually sit in my wiring rack in the garage.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I actually read the manual.

1. Yes it is true, at least for my 3808 which also uses the same volume control super imposed on all video outputs.

2. No idea, but the 3808 is capable with a program called Command3808, something similar might be available, check AVS official Denon 3310 owners thread..

I don't know about (2) at all, but for (1) it also is true for my 2310, so I'm sure it is true for the 3310, as Jay stated.
OK, thanks. I may just have to do a quick hookup to give it a try. But that means I have to find a free ethernet port somewhere near the TV...

I know, I was trying to avoid that by asking here... ;\)

For the 3808 you can control pretty much everything from the network interface. I have used the web browser on my iphone and computer for turning the unit on or off, switching inputs, adjusting volume, muting, etc. You can even browse through your list of streamable music from your net/usb input or select internet radio, etc.

The web interface is pretty plain and somewhat sluggish but not too bad considering it is a really innovative feature.

I assume that the 3310 is very similar.

The 3310 web UI is great, there is also a mobile UI (generic) and iphone formatted UI. The Web UI will allow you to do some configuration, a complete backup and control everything including input, zones, netradio etc.
Yup, just tried it. Very cool. Surprisingly slow for a wired ethernet interface, though I'd guess that's more due to the CPU controlling the GUI. Workable though.

The best feature is the ability to back things up.... Also if you run outdoor speakers off a second zone it would nice to be able to control your music from your phone or laptop.

I'd love to see denon step up their game with a stylish fast acting web interface...

I think decoupling the web UI from the device and running it on an actual PC that passes commands to the device would be a great way to improve the functionality of the equipment without needing to up the processing power in the equipment. I have thought of doing this myself (for the Denon and other devices that can be easily controller over IP like TivoHD) but never can find the time to spend on it!!!! I hope a vendor will one day see a market here and simply let me buy software to do this!
