Goal: Blu-Ray (HDMI) upgrade

My current office system:

65" Toshiba DLP 1080p
Front L/R: Michaura M665 towers (like M60s)
Center: VP 150
Surrounds: Mission 77DS
Subwoofer: Dahlquist PDQ1500

Processor: Sony TA E9000ES with 2.01 firmware upgrade
Amplifier: Anthem PVA 5
DVD Player: Sony DVP S7000

The Sony TA E9000ES processor is wonderful when it comes to sound quality from DVDs or CDs.

Same for the DVP S7000, great sound from DVDs and CDs but no DTS, or SACD, and since it’s a Sony, no DVD Audio.

So the Sony TA E9000ES and the DVP S7000 DVD are 480p limited and player have to go.

I’m thinking of the Integra DHC 40.1 processor and an Oppo Blu-Ray BDP 80 or 83.

I want to try the Dolby IIz with a pair of Michaura M55s horizontally positioned high on the wall above the front towers.

Anyway, the Integra DHC 40.1 can be had for a bit over $1,000 (MSRP $1,200), the Marantz is more, the new Emotiva less, any other reasonably priced processors out there?

All ideas welcome.

I don't know if you can find the Onkyo Pro PR-SC5507P, for more or less than the Integra, but they're pretty much the same... Oh, wait, it's the same as the 80.1. So probably more than you want to spend.
Phil, in my view, because of economies of scale, the most cost-effective and fully-featured processors are to be found in receivers. Consider the Onkyo 180 factory refurb available here for about $430 plus shipping.
I think the 80.1 lists for $2,300 can be had for around $2,000+, a bit more than I'd like to spend. I'll check the price of the Onkyo - same folks. Thanks.

Here are some horizontal M55s (black eyed peas)

And here are the M665s (one with a single M55 standing atop, an experiment that Anthem asked me not to perform even though the PVA 5 is 4 ohm stable.

John that Onkyo is an interesting unit.
Can you wait till October? grin

In the AVS Forums there is talk of the Marantz AV7005 due out in October for $1500.
I would be very shocked if that Anthem couldn't handle that type of load considering my Denon 1804 handled a very similar load with M22 on top M60. Anthem was just covering their behinds in case some thing did go wrong.
