Wow!!!

The AVS Speakers forum has just been put to speep "until further notice."

Where should the refugees go now? SPOT???

Spot seems to be run by a nazi as well. Why did they close it? A few stupid posts here and there shouldn't shut down an entire board.

Maybe they will come here instead.

I noticed that earlier today. Here's the only explantion I've seen: "The speaker section will be closed until further notice. We are sorry, but information as to why it was closed or when it will be reopened really can not be provided for it is not a public matter."

Have they been threatened with a lawsuit? That's my best guess.

There seems to be a slight explanation posted here:

Hmmm...

Seems some people are taking forum chatting FAR to seriously. Glad I could be singled out as a putz though, that's always good.

heheheehe....you are not the putz. The putzes are the ones that take the this stuff so personal, and the ones that use the boards for the wrong reasons.

Go listen to your new M60's!!

Curtis et al.,

Do you remember that a completely benign-looking, nicely civilized thread about the new Hsu VTF-3R (in which you and I both participated) was suddenly closed the day before, without a warning? That happened right after my own post in which I mentioned something like: "I would be surprised if the SVS PB2-Plus doesn't go deeper and cleaner than the similarly designed but smaller Hsu VTF-3."

To be honest, I felt it VERY strange, especially given that I, a happy Hsu owner, was making a clearly positive remark on a competing SVS product. Unless I missed something important, it was quite clear that David just assumed that I was a fanatic SVS fan, "trolling" for trouble.

I felt that it was at best very atypical of David to abruptly close down the very benign thread even without a warning. Then, this whole shutdown happened in less than 24 hours... I can't help but speculate that something VERY bad had been cooking somewhere in that forum, which was immediately threatening enough to render David less careful than he always has been. Oh well...

Well it really is a shame, because it helped me choose both my Axioms I plan on getting, as well as my SVS that I bought.

sushi -

Yeah, I thought that was very strange indeed. I'm fairly new to avs, and thought that was rather heavy handed.

As was the response on "the spot" regarding Curtis's comment about the Hsu sight.

Whatever...dang crazy people out there.

This thread is getting way out of control.
If it doesn't stop, i may have to hold sushi's mouse hostage.

Posted By: curtis Re: AVS Speakers Forum Closed!!! - 07/10/03 03:51 PM
yeah sushi,

that was nuts...because nothing derogatory was stated.

If you read the AV123 board....by the way spiffnme, that thread I sent you is now deleted.....I wonder why? You can see stuff brewing with some specific Rocket supporters, and some so-called anti Rocket supporters.

The whole thing could be a very good case study for some psychology/socialogy class.
