Anyone have a recommendation on a Blu-Ray player around the $150 to $175 price range. Am looking for my 1st Blu-Ray player to try on my CRT. The models on C-Net, recommended, the Lg BD-570 for around $145 and the Samsung BD-6500 for $169 from Amazon. Any thought on these players or do you have any other recommendations? Looking for a player that would play better than my Pioneer Elite DV-45A and be able to play Blu-Ray discs on my 53" Pioneer Elite CRT Pro-530 HD
Play Station 3 is out of my budget right now, as well as Oppo.

Thank You,
Tim

After a little research i just bought a Sony BDP-S57-0 for $138 on amazon. It is a gift for my parents and seemed like a good player. Haven't got it yet.

Walmart just had a special on the 160 GB PS3 for $299 and that price included a $100 gift card. I'm not sure if the deal is still running but if you buy any groceries from walmart then its basically like getting the PS3 for $199.

How does the player need to hook into your CRT TV (or receiver?)

The player needs to hook up to the TV.

Thanks,
Tim

I think what David meant was, "what type of connections/cabling does your TV accept?"

Component video into TV. Coaxial audio from Dvd player to receiver.

I happen to like my Insignia NS-WBRDVD2. Insignia is the in house brand for Best Buy. I bought it because of the added Netflix feature which works great. As a Blu-ray player, I think it's fine too though I haven't really compared it with other players. But, I've had it over a year and have been satisfied with it's performance and not had any problems with it. Plus, you can often get it under $100...like now, it's only $90. I'd definitely consider it a good option for players under $200.
