Power outtage and my 45TX!
Hello all,
About 10 minutes ago the power in my area went out briefly (Of course it happened when I had the computer, air-conditioner, lights, etc... on and was watching t.v). My 45TX wasn't on at the time but when the outtage occured the area's power was flickering on and off for a few seconds before finally going completely out for a minute or two. I watched in disgust as this was happening, watching the standby light on the 45TX flicker off and on and then go out. When the power kicked back on everything but the 45TX came on again, the standby light was out,....OH ****! I tried using the remote to turn it on, nothing. I grabbed the manual and read about the power protection circuitry possibly being activated. I unplugged the 45TX from my surge protector and plugged it back in (As the manual says to do), the standby light came on but when I switched the receiver on all my settings were gone, everything was as it was in default. I thought the 45TX retained settings for a month unplugged from the wall? Now I have to go and rerun MCACC and set all my preferences again!!! Blast it all! Has this happened to anyone else where the power goes out and the settings are all erased? I had a bried outtage (same length of time as this one, 1 minute or 2) before and the standby light immediately came on when the power returned, nothing was changed. Could it have been the flickering of power off and on very quickly that triggered this? Is that normal for the settings to be erased in this situation? I'll attempt to re-do everything tomorrow and hope nothing else went bad.
