Is it possible to adjust the treble on a Denon 3311CI? If so, how? I can't find any information in the book. The only thing I can find is a manual EQ adjust for each speaker but I don't know if this will effect my auto calibration. Plus I don't know what frequency to change. My treble seems to loud on the high end during movies.
Thanks!

Check your manual, Page 73, right side.

If you have Audyssey turned on try turning it off to see if you notice any improvement.

do you have HT-EQ on your receiver?
it's included in my Marantz SR5005 and in the instruction manual they say: "soften the treble range of movie soundtracts..."
Somewhere else i read this is used to compensate for the higher treble level in cinemas as compared to HT;

i haven't tried it, except i do use Audyssey Flat as i found out that the Audyssey setting rolls off some treble, which i found was a little weak in my setup.

like SirQuack said, could also be too strong reflections from the side wall and/or the floor.

hope this helps. :-)

Drifter, J.B. uses the Audyssey "Flat" setting since he wants a level treble setting. If you're not doing so already, you should use the "Audyssey" setting rather than "Flat", since the Audyssey setting applies a gentle 2dB per octave roll-off above about 4KHz to help tame program material with excessive treble content.

Also, the manual equalization option can't be used to "tweak" the Audyssey room equalization results. It's either Audyssey or what Dr. Kyriakakis has referred to as the "crude" manual equalizer, but not both.

thanks John, i was thinking about rewriting this last post of mine for better clarity; you did it for me. :-)

it is comforting to know that my hearing still goes higher than 4kHz. ;-)
