In a quest to raise my VP180 a bit, I raised my TV up some and built a riser stand for my VP180 stand. I covered it in a vinyl fabric that I obtained from Hobby Lobby. Photos below

HEre is and old photo for comparison purposes

Good with vinyl? Yes but you should see him go with latex.

Nice job! I can't even wrap presents - I wouldn't dare try furniture! Did it make a difference in the sound?

I haven't done any critical listening yet, but so far it seems like raising the speaker even just 4" made some improvement. I could be imagining improvement to feel better about my efforts wink

In any event, it's more comfortable to view the tv from the kitchen bar stools now.

And almost as important....that was one helluva comeback game for Peyton!!! smile My son has him for FF QB (family only friendly league) so it was a good game overall.

Nice work on the stand!

I was looking at possibly upgrading my stand to this one: http://www.standoutdesigns.com/collectio...ole-media-stand

But the center channel slot is 1/8" too small. My VP180 is 39 and 5/16"!!! Maybe I can sand the sides of the center channel slot. Ugh...---> <---- this close!!

Sounds like it would almost fit. Keep in mind that it would be ideal to maintain plenty off breathing room for the rear ported vp-180, and may not want to enclose it in a cabinet.

That's not a problem at all. The rear panel can be kept open.

If I get it, I may end up trying to jam it in there, or sanding the sides of the entertainment center.

Such is the life of VP180 owners! smile
