I have been a repeat customer of Axiom Audio for years with two separate home theater room setups. One room is more of a multipurpose family room for video, games, and stereo listening. The other room is the dedicated AV room but with challenging structural design elements. I am swapping out the front M80's and replacing the A-1400-8 amplifier.

Here is the new setup:

LFR1100 pair
VP180
QS8 rears and surrounds
EP800 pair
1500 5 channel amp at 4 ohms (fronts and center)
1250 4 channel amp at 8 ohms (rear and surrounds)
Anthem Statement D2V AV receiver with ARC
Various source devices

Can hardly wait to hear the difference with the LFR's and the new amplifiers.
What do you think?

Best Wishes to All and thanks again to Axiom for taking care of me so well over the years!

Oh, my! I'm sure that will be wonderful, and I hope it brings you and your loved ones many hours of joy. I'd like to hear more about (and see pictures of) your new setup when you get your toys unwrapped.

Can't help it. I was a Zorker back in the olden days.

Ya i was tempted by the Anthem Statement amps a few years back. The Statement DSP got solid ratings and reviews all around.
Big unit.

This is the only Zorker that I am familiar with.

Wow. That Anthem looks sweet, Mike. I'll bet it would make your system sound even better than it does now.

I'm afraid to click the link. Chess said it was a big unit.

All this and you have only one post. No time to waste. You can post pics of your current set up(s) while you're waiting for the LFRs. smile

That's an amazing list. I think you'll be very happy with that, since mine is fairly close, though I have a tiny bit less robust amplification, and my receiver isn't as high-end.

CV, i couldn't really hear much difference between my NAD processor and my Krell processor.. I am still using the Krell, but just because one cost 8X the other doesn't mean there is an 8X increase in performance... So, don't be too hard on yourself man. But, then again i could just be tone deaf....

Argh! This is what happens when you do things in a hurry.

I have ordered an Axiom surround kit 2 M3s, 2 QS4 surrounds, a VP100 centre and an EP350 sub.

I have also purchased an Anthem MRX 500 receiver. Will the MRX 500 have enough juice to run my chosen speakers without distortion?
Posted By: JohnK Re: Merry Christmas to me! - 01/07/13 07:03 AM
Pat, of course all amplifiers have distortion, but at their rated maximum output(and usually a bit above)the distortion is inaudible and the amplification is transparent. This certainly includes the MRX 500, and the 100 watts or more easily available will allow for all safe(to your hearing)listening levels with those speakers.

Brent says they are in final stages of production and will ship next week!
Looking forward to the new setup.
Thanks for all your replies and compliments.

No, I did not win the lottery, unfortunately.
I think you have to buy a ticket in order to win.
I'm simply a DINKA and enjoy audio and cars.

The room is quite challenging from an acoustical standpoint.
Anthem's ARC helps a lot in this regard.
It will be interesting to see the actual frequency response curves from the "old" vs "new system as measured in my room.

I will try to post some pics if I can figure out how to do that.

Hmm, i would say your biggest challenge isn't with the architecture but rather with the extravagant Christmas adornments.
And here i thought my wife took a long time to decorate.
smile
I suspect once Christmas is over, your audio setup will look just fine but the room does seem to be one of those that would carry alot of echo (my living room nemesis).

Yeah, she is borderline psycho with Christmas.
The room has high ceilings, side walls with cabinets, and tile floor.
Lots of reflective hard surfaces.
The cloth cabinet door inserts help some, but it remains fairly bright.
Hoping the new front mains will sing in this type of situation.

In my experience and in my preference, i don't like bright rooms. Since we bought a new flat screen tv for the living room and it reflect light like there was no tomorrow, we are now working on getting heavy, light dampening drapes to replace the blinds. This should help somewhat.
To date, NO speaker that has adorned that room sounded good whatsoever.

I just noticed that the LFR1100's have an option on the DSP unit. You can add a DSP center channel for a VP180.
What would be the benefit of this?
Is it something I should do?
